General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Jason (Steve Burton) and Drew’s (Billy Miller) bitter battle is going strong. Likewise, the fan wars are spiraling out of control! Thanks to Drew and Jason’s violent showdown on the docks, many viewers are speaking up. “JaSam” supporters and “Dream” lovers are getting into heated arguments on social media. It’s a soap jungle out there!
Sometimes it’s best to take a step back from the chaos and examine this from all angles. Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) at the heart of this conflict, so it’s important to think about her wants and needs. Which man truly deserves Sam and her love? Let’s take a look at all the recent drama to figure that out.
Before they let their fists to the talking, Drew and Jason both made some valid points. Sonny (Maurice Benard) was naturally a topic that came up on Drew’s end. He suggested that Jason always chooses Sonny over Sam.
Jason has indeed put himself in harm’s way plenty of times for Sonny’s sake. He brings danger to Sam and her family, so that’s a strike against him. However, Drew was in that same boat not too long ago. He was doing the same thing when he thought he was Jason.
Drew could argue that’s because he had Jason’s memories, but Jason’s memories are also what brought him together with Sam. He probably wouldn’t have ended up with her if it hadn’t been for the memory-mapping. Unfortunately, Drew wants to act like Jason walked away from Sam and that’s just not true. Jason was held hostage and eventually returned to find that his brother had taken over his life.
Despite that horrible loss, Jason has been patient and kind. He never pressured Sam to be with him. Drew has a right to be angry at this frustrating situation, but it’s unfair to blame Sam or Jason for the feelings they’ve shared for years. Why wouldn’t they still be drawn to each other now? After all, Sam fell for Drew because she thought he was Jason!
However, Jason insisted that Drew made Sam feel small and scared. That doesn’t line up with what we’ve seen on screen. Sam has always felt safe and comfortable in Drew’s arms. She’s just feeling overwhelmed over this heartbreaking love triangle.
Bottom line, there are pros and cons to choosing either guy here. Jason’s strong and steady. He may be tied up with Sonny’s business, but he definitely cares about Sam’s happiness. That’s why he never tried to hold her back from Drew.
As for Drew, it seemed like a mistake to walk out on Sam and refuse to even speak with her later. True love means listening and reacting with compassion. Still, that can’t erase all the wonderful moments Drew and Sam have shared along the way. General Hospital spoilers say Sam’s final choice will be a tough one!
