Midnight, Texas begins with Manfred Bernardo (Francois Arnaud) dreaming about walking into town and digging a deep hole in the road. Creek Lovell (Sarah Ramos) says she wants to move out of Midnight and apply for a writing program; he agrees, saying home is where she is. His nose starts to bleed and he rushes to the bathroom, finding it is black coming out of his nose, he looks down and finds his muddy boots.

Fiji Cavanuagh (Parisa Fitz-Henley) is having crazy sex magic with Bobo Winthrop (Dylan Bruce), while Olivia Charity (Arielle Kebbel) wakes up Lemuel Bridger (Peter Mensah) informing her husband she is home! Joe Strong (Jaseon Lewis), an angel, jogs out to meet his husband, Chuy (Bernardo Caracino), who is half-demon; both jinxing it about the demons and angels staying at bay.

Manfred is at the bar, where everyone’s thoughts are driving him to the point of grabbing a knife. Creek distracts him, asking if he wants more coffee. Olivia closes the door, saying she hates to interrupt their tasty breakfast but there are matters they need to discuss. She shows them a website about the Hotel that is now a Spa retreat thing called Crystal Desert and it is completely booked for the next month; Fiji is upset saying that is her territory!

Apparently, everyone is coming because of a man named Healer Kai Lucero (Nestor Carbonell), he has a huge following and they believe its a cult. Everyone is concerned about Manfred who simply says he hasn’t been sleeping well but assures them the hotel will go under within 3 months because of ghosts. Olivia says haunted or not, they are going to the grand opening.

Manfred drives his RV out to the desert, informing Creek he won’t be home for the night as he researches Demonic nosebleeds. Olivia really enjoys her psychic connection to Lemuel, feeling everyone woman would want their man to know what they want even before they do. She didn’t picture herself the marrying type either but is loving it.

Manfred wakes up the next morning and checks his phone that he had taped to his chest. He had traveled 7.04 miles into the desert to Blanco Canyon, finds his dirty boots and that he has dug at least 8 open graves. His grandmother Xylda (Joanne Camp) appears to him, asking him if he is in trouble now? She did cross over, but she heard about this and had to come back. She suggests he go back and tell them about this, but he feels he can’t do that after gaining their trust. She thinks he should be proud of swallowing 6 whole demons to save the town, but suggests there might be a straggler.

Xylda brings him to the church and says the holy water will burn his fingerprints right off; which it doesn’t so he isn’t possessed. He returns to town, just in time to meet the Hipsters. Rev. Emilio Sheehan (Yul Vazquez) loves the vibe from the church. They are introduced to Patience Lucero (Jamie Ray Newman) who says they are very lucky because Midnight is a very special place. Olivia wants to know why they chose Midnight and Patience says they needed a place to settle down and Sedona doesn’t hold a candle to the energy here in Midnight.

Fiji feels something is off and Manfred visualizes drowning the Rev in the pool of water until a bell sounds. He tells everyone he has to get out of there for work and bolts, leaving Creek confused. Kai emerges and walks on the water towards them, welcoming them, saying it is an astonishing day. A man in a wheelchair (William Sterchi) begs Kai to make him walk for his daughter’s wedding next month, but Patience says to book an appointment later in the week. Kai tells him to enter the pool on his own and he rolls in. He insists that he belies and Kai pulls air out of his mouth, the man literally walks out of the pool on his own two feet. The Midnighters are in disbelief.

In the RV, Manfred reads through the journals his grandmother left; she worries as the sun goes down because bad things happen then. She doesn’t trust Manfred around Creek, he confesses that he doesn’t either.

Joe and Bobo are bartending when some of the hotel guests are harassing some of the women, Lemuel takes care of it. Fiji brings Bobo a key to her place and he kisses her, wondering why it took her so long to give him one. Olivia tells Chuy and Joe that obviously, the man in the wheelchair is an actor and Kai is a conman. She says no one just comes to Midnight, they are either running from someone or have something to hide. The man Lemuel just threw out returns and pushes Joe out of the way, his eyes turn red and Joe says he is not his friend.

After several drinks, Manfred calls 911, reporting a naked drunk guy outside the saloon, putting himself behind bars. His grandmother feels this isn’t a bad plan, as he curls up, resting his head on her lap for the night. Unfortunately, he wakes up in his bed, with blood on Creek’s side of the bed and he runs through the house looking for her, seeing a big gash and blood on his hand, asking, “What did I do?”

Manfred sees Creek at the diner, who reveals he ended up at the drunk tank. She insists that he hasn’t been himself lately, but she is over the drama and lies. Her voice starts to drown out as he sees a gun in an officer’s holster. He asks if they can talk at home because he’s still hung over.

Olivia returns to the spa as Patience does some Reiki on her, but as soon as the coast is clear, Olivia begins to search the hotel. She finds Kai talking to a painting on the wall of a woman in a robe, whom he’s asking to give him strength.

Manfred continues to search through the journals, finding the exact same thing happened to his Uncle Barney. He says its time for a family reunion and when they conjure him up, he is told that even if he breaks the possession, it will come at a cost. The black matter begins to take over the body like demonic cancer, once it hits the brain, you start hallucinating and then lose your mind. His Uncle’s advice on how to stop it is to put a bullet through is brain before he puts one through someone else’s head.

Fiji and Bobo are thoroughly enjoying sex until he sees someone broke into the pawn shop; but they didn’t take any money. Manfred returns home telling his grandmother he has demon cancer. She shows him the booty he took from the pawnshop and he realizes that is how he broke his hand, inside the chest is all the weapons he stole. He thinks its time to tell everyone, but his grandmother suggests he gives into temptation, starting with Creek as she would be so easy to take out. Manfred realizes that his grandmother couldn’t possibly be there and that he is now hallucinating. She tells him that he always was a smart boy as he gets an evil smile on his face.

Joe takes out the garbage and the man punches him in the face, saying it’s not every day a demon like him gets to take out an angel. It’s suddenly 3 of them on Joe, when Walker Chisum (Josh Kelly) walks up and helps him, saying he is a huge fan of his work.

As Creek is flossing her teeth, she discovers the towels with the black goop on them, she takes a picture and sends it to Fiji; but Manfred stops her before she can leave. She is terrified as he holds a knife to her throat. She is able to taser him and run. In the meantime, Fiji gets the message but by the time they get to the house, no one is there.

Manfred is driving with Olivia, saying Creek was acting crazy and he is looking for her, Olivia is completely unaware Creek is tied up and in the trunk. Olivia pulls out her switchblade and demands to know what is going on with Manfred when she notices something odd with his neck. He calls her knife “cute” but she says it won’t be so cute when it pierces his trachea.

Manfred tosses Olivia into the first grave he had dug and then goes back to the trunk, but finds that Creek had escaped, screaming that he is a dick, knowing she is claustrophobic. She tries to find the keys as he is choking her out. Lemuel is able to stop him but vomits, saying he knew because of their psychic connection and Olivia is in danger.

Back in Midnight, Fiji works on various spells trying to save Manfred. Creek pleads for Manfred to fight to come out and he begs for her to kill him before he will kill them. The Rev and Kai come, saying they can help. Rev tells them if they just believe with an open mind, they can help. Kai grabs Manfred’s forehead and orders him to be at peace, he is able to look around for a few minutes before all this darkness explodes out of him. Kai leans down and sucks the darkness out of him and spits it onto the floor. Manfred lets out a loud burp, completely confused.

Manfred doesn’t know how to thank Kai and Patience, who are just happy to be a part of Midnight. Olivia hates to admit that they are the real deal. Manfred is sorry for everything and will understand if they won’t trust or forgive him. Fiji just wants them to come to him next time, he tells them not to say “next time.”

He finds Creek at home, packing and she says she is going to Austin, whether she gets into the program or not. He is excited to go too as the home is wherever she is but she is done and doesn’t want him to go. She has reached her limit with Midnight and him. He tries to convince her that he would never hurt her, but she has witnessed too much violence and fear so she feels she needs to go do this alone, asking him to let her go.

The next morning, Manfred wakes up to the birds chirping, but the bed is empty beside him. Bobo and Fiji open the door saying it is a big step, talking about marriage and babies with happily ever after. He calls her his “soul mate” as he is hers! He lifts her up and carries her over the threshold as she welcomes him home. Oddly the leaves all begin to fall off their branches inside her house.

Kai slides back his painting to where there is a human head in a cage. He promises to avenge them.

The End!
