Midnight, Texas begins tonight with Lemuel (Peter Mensah) daydreaming that he was having a baby girl with his wife, Olivia (Arielle Kebbel). Joe (Jason Lewis) pours him another drink as he explains that his psychic connection grows stronger to Olivia every day, but its a dream about something he could never give her. Olivia wakes up and rips the sheets back, happy to see she isn’t pregnant, she walks into the living room and finds out that Lemuel is human now.

He explains that he is human now because he could feel her desire to have a baby and with Kai (Nestor Carbonell) there was a way to make that happen. Olivia is furious that he made the decision without her and they are married; the only reason they work is that he is a vampire and she is a really messed up human. He says they love each other and when they married, he knew she wanted a family and he wants everything with her.

Manfred (Francois Arnaud) wakes up with Patience (Jaime Ray Newman) in his bed; both enjoying the morning until her phone rings and her happiness is gone now that Kain and the girls are back. She says sometimes when your life is so intertwined with someone you simply stay stuck, but that doesn’t mean she wants things to end with Manfred.

Fiji (Parisa Fitz-Henley) brings Bobo (the dog) into the restaurant. Manfred jokes that he doesn’t want to pet him as it feels wrong. Joe guesses this is curse related and Fiji says he is safe as a dog, but it is only temporary. She says her books are useless as Joe suggests maybe another which could help; something like the witch network from the Salem days. Lemuel walks into the restaurant, wearing beach clothing and everyone notices his eyes are normal; revealing he saw Kai last night. Joe is happy for him but everyone else is shocked as he explains he gave up his powers for more important things, asking for food that he wanted to try since the 50s.

Fiji sends out messages to a witch coven, who immediately tell her she doesn’t belong there and ban her. She doesn’t know what to do. Olivia retrieves mementos from her childhood, trying to hide them before Lemuel returns home from the mall. She orders him to stop, saying it was easy to fantasize about having a family together when it was impossible; but he knows her lousy childhood. He thinks that doesn’t mean she can’t be a good mother. She doesn’t talk about her mother and feels she can’t show a child what love looks like; he may be human now but she is still broken.

Manfred and Patience are having sex in the hotel, until they hear a scream and find Sequoia (Claire Bryett Andrew) dead in the pool, with the word “goodbye” written in blood on the wall. Manfred questions Kai about whether he knew she was suicidal or depressed, but he doesn’t understand. Patience goes to get Lyric (Chelsea Edmundson) something to drink to calm down while Manfred sees Sequoia’s ghost. She tells him to be quiet and leads him to a private room, where she shows that her tongue has been cut out. She enters Manfred’s body for him to see what happened, but he can’t understand what it was as whomever did it was invisible.

Madonna’s (Kelle Stewart) phone rings and Olivia discovers a check from Charity security inside, demanding to know how long she has been working for her father. They get into a serious physical altercation, while Madonna explains how she came to work for her father, Philip Charity (Michael Harney) and how it was just surveillance and then he wanted her blood. Olivia wants to know why, but Madonna fell in love with the town and gives Olivia the phone as Olivia feels betrayed.

Fiji comes home and finds Celeste a witch sitting in her house. She reveals the Delilahs are real catty witches and she came because she knows what she is going through as she is also cursed. She tells Fiji to sit, explaining they all come from one witch – and says they are dark witches, suggesting Fiji should embrace it.

Olivia tells Lemuel that Madonna is a traitor, there to spy on her and she gave him her blood but she is going to find and then kill him; now that Lemuel is human he can’t stop her. Manfred explains to Joe what happened to Sequoia, saying there is no way it was a ghost that killed her. He believes that maybe Kai killed her, but Joe says that is impossible as he isn’t invisible. Someone is in the room with them, Manfred sprays green paint and the person runs; Joe says that is definitely not a ghost.

Olivia and Lemuel break into her childhood home, where Christmas music is playing and a young Olivia (Marie Wagenman) is decorating the tree. She looks utterly confused as Lemuel says this is weird, even for them. Olivia asks if she is okay and the young girl calls for her Daddy, he sees Livvie, who says it is nice to see her. She throat punches him telling him not to act like this is normal; he says he will explain. Just then Jean (Alison Whitney) walks in the room, saying she wasn’t expecting guests. Olivia is dumbfounded as it is her mother, she introduces herself as Olivia and Jean say that is her daughter’s name as Philip offers them all eggnog.

Manfred watches as Patience gives guests their keys. She is shaken, feeling she should have known Sequoia needed help. Manfred steals the keys, as the invisible person watches them.

Lemuel and Olivia listen as Philip explains they are living and breathing stations created from his memory. He was devastated when he found out what her stepfather and men did to Olivia but he was too late because she had run away. He said he had all the money in the world and everything he desired except her and her mother; but watching her in Midnight, he learned that magic was real and found a way to be able to recreate this last happy memory.

She tells him he can’t rewrite history, he wonders if this is what she always wanted. Olivia walks into the living room but Lemuel warns her not to get sucked into the ghost of Christmas past as she came there to kill her father. She just wants to talk to her mom for 5 minutes.

Manfred wants Joe to keep an eye on Kai, while he checks out his office for any evidence of killing Sequoia. Manfred spots green paint on one of the doors and enters it instead of the office. He finds a vial that makes things invisible and realizes it is Lyric; she begins throwing things at him revealing that she thought Sequoia was a true believer but she was going to betray Kai. She has to protect him but reveals she also knows Manfred is sleeping with Patience. He is able to stab Lyric in the eye before she strangles him.

Fiji drowns her sadness in chardonnay, not understanding how she is a dark witch. Celeste knows that she can feel it, but to become her full self she needs to let go of her fears and embrace the darkness. She knows how to break the curse, she needs to pledge herself to the darkness and her lover will be saved. Fiji doesn’t think that sounds fabulous because that means she will have to say goodbye to Bobo. Celeste brings Bobo (Dylan Bruce) back to human form, giving her 48 hours to make a decision or let the curse run its course.

Olivia talks to Jean, wondering if her mother would be disappointed in the person she became. Jean talks about wanting her to play the violin, but she found ballet and is breathtaking. Her daughter isn’t who she hoped her to be, but she is much better than she imagined. Olivia tears up as young Olivia says she doesn’t feel good and begins to vanish. He says she has just had too many gingerbread cookies and will be right back. He takes out his book, cuts his hand and performs his spell to keep his wife and daughter alive; something Lemuel witnesses.

Lemuel insists they have to go, but something had switched in Olivia, who says they cannot go as it is Christmas. Lemuel calls Fiji, saying Olivia has fallen under the spell of dark magic her father has done; but before he can finish the call, Philip knocks him out, saying no one is going to ruin his Christmas.

Patience, Joe, and Kai come in the room where Manfred reveals that Lyric killed Sequoia who said she killed the girl in order to protect Kai. Kai says he has no idea what she is talking about. Lemuel is tied to a chair as he asks Olivia to break the spell if she wants to. He tells Philip to have his fantasy but to let Olivia go; he says he has no intentions of letting any of them go again. He puts a Santa’s hat on Lemuel, warning him if he does anything, he will kill Lem. He sits horrified as everyone sings “Jingle Bells.”

Fiji and Bobo find Madonna telling her about Philip’s mirage enchantment, which has put Lemuel and Olivia in trouble. She tells them to follow her as she knows where they are. Bobo fights with Philip as Fiji comes in. Madonna unstraps Lemuel as Olivia returns with dessert. Fiji cuts her own hand over the open fire, performing a spell. Lemuel begs Olivia to stop, talking about when he first met her, saying he is her family, not this delusion. She says she is right where she belongs. Fiji’s magic isn’t enough and feels she needs to embrace the darkness, which she does, her eyes turning pitch black.

Bobo watches as Olivia comes out of the enchantment, ripping off her hideous Christmas sweater. She hugs Lemuel but takes off when she sees Madonna. Philip hugs his fake wife and daughter as they vanish. Bobo holds Fiji when Olivia confronts her father in tears, saying he can’t be a father to a fake daughter any more than he could be a father to her. She needed him to protect her and tell her things were going to be okay. Her entire life she let anger and pain protect her because she never wanted to feel so alone like he made her feel but she needs to let go because she is not alone anymore.

Philip tells her to just kill him but she refuses, hugging Lemuel; saying she is just going to return the favor, walking out leaving him entirely alone. Madonna packs up and leaves Midnight, leaving the “I’m Sorry” sign on her restaurant. At home, Olivia talks about how she couldn’t see herself as anything but broken, but the past is the past. Lem says he loves her past, present, and future. She loves him vampire and human; saying he is her family now.

Bobo brings Fiji a drink, as she admits she doesn’t feel evil if that is what he wants to know. She is afraid of it, but dark magic saved Lem and Olivia tonight and maybe it can save them too. She tells Bobo he is her family, asking him to let her save him as she wants to take control. She looks at Celeste’s card.

Manfred gives Joe the vial Lyric had, saying Sequoia discovered Kai’s secret and that is what she was trying to tell him and he thinks he has a way to find out what secret is worth killing over. Meanwhile,, Kai goes to the basement and puts on the jukebox, which opens up to several vials of monster energy. Kai deposits the energy he has been absorbing from all supernaturals and placing it there; hiding it. Manfred sees it from a secret spot.
