The 8 rookies arrive at the Metlife Stadium to meet host Alyssa Milano. They are blown away and nervous when Alyssa announces the arrival of the 8 vets. The two teams of 8 are given their 1st competition with a budget of $1k each. To win an extra $500 they compete in a quick stitch relay race. The veterans win the race and choose to create a spring collection. The rookies end up with the fall collection.

Both teams go shopping for their fabrics and supplies with a 30-minute time limit. After they shop, they head to the location where they will work on their designs. Both teams are thrilled with their space and workstations. They get to work strategizing who will do what.

Vets Helen and Ken are using the same pattern. Ken is creating pants. They have 10 hours left. The editor and chief of Marie Claire magazine, Anne, arrives to visit the vets. She will be their mentor this season. She makes her way around the room to discuss what all of the vets are making. She tells Helen that her design is a bit boring. She tells Merline that her design looks like a House on the Prairie. She tells Edmond that he needs to be fierce. After she leaves all of the vets are nervous. They all make changes to their designs with 3 hours to go.

The models arrive and dress in the clothing. There is 1 hour to go. They all rush nervously around. Tomorrow morning they will show off their creations in the competition.

It is the morning of the runway. They all have a thousand things to do. Many of the vets are talking to themselves as they rush around. Char is happy with her wine-colored gown. Meanwhile, the models get their hair done with a 70s vibe in mind.

The vets look at the rookies fall collection and they hate the colors. The vets are thrilled with the outcome of their collection.

Alyssa introduces the judges, Georgina Chapman and Isaac Mizrahi, and the guest judge, Michael Costello. They will judge blind. They won’t know who created what until after the runway. All of the models come out one by one showcasing both the spring and fall collections created by the vets and the rookies. Alyssa and the judges carefully look over each model, making notes of what they see.

Alyssa announces the winning collection. The rookies win! Alyssa calls forward Merline, Char, and Edmond. They had the most loved pieces. Ari receives an honorable mention. Next, Alyssa calls Ken, Helen, and Casanova forward. The three had the lowest scores of their team. One of them will be going home tonight.

The judges commend Merline, Char, and Edmond on their work. They then discuss Ken, Helen, and Casanova’s work. The three are sent backstage so that they can decide. Alyssa does not think Helen should go home for her dress. She is typically better. They all felt like Ken failed miserably with his power suit with the mid-drift exposed. Casanova’s leather top and silk trouser skirt was also a disaster.

Merline is announced as this week’s challenge! Helen is safe. Casanova is set home.

THE END!
