The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) spoilers tease that Liam (Scott Clifton) will grow increasingly nervous about his potential guilt. After hitting his head on a fallen branch, Liam suddenly remembered seeing Bill (Don Diamont) propose to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). He was stunned when the memory came rushing back.
Later, Bill recapped what happened just before the shooting. Liam was visibly disturbed as he began to see the situation from the shooter’s perspective. He’s starting to believe he actually did the deed. Could Liam truly be the one who shot Bill? B&B could be cooking up a shocking storyline!
Of course, The Bold and the Beautiful will have to explain why Liam’s just now recalling all this. There are a few routes they could take. Liam has suffered plenty of head injuries over the last few years. He developed amnesia at one point and was brainwashed into believing he was “Adam.” Quinn (Rena Sofer) was able to dupe Liam for quite a while.
Did Liam’s brain ever truly recover? Bill punched Liam not too long ago, so that could’ve rattled things around in there. If Liam also hit his head the night of the shooting, that’d be another injury to add to the list. All of that could tie in with Liam’s memory loss.
However, B&B could spin this in a different direction instead. They could focus on the emotional side and suggest that this was a result of trauma. Could Liam have dissociative identity disorder? Since Liam was dealing with so much stress and pain over Steffy’s betrayal, he could’ve developed an alternate personality as a coping mechanism. “Adam” or another alter could’ve shot Bill.
If The Bold and the Beautiful didn’t want to go for full-blown DID, they could opt for dissociative amnesia. This condition often results from a traumatic experience. It leaves the afflicted person unable to recall disturbing events for a period of time, but memories often resurface later.
Shooting Bill in a fit of rage certainly would’ve been traumatic for Liam. He could’ve snapped, fired the shot and erased the incident from his mind briefly. Now that Liam’s getting bits and pieces of that night, a dissociative amnesia explanation makes a lot of sense. Liam’s brain may have blocked everything out due to the horrific realization of what he’d done.
