The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers tease that Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) won’t be able to come to terms with Still’s rise. Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) father long feared Bill’s (Don Diamont) persistence, which has now yielded this most incredible couple.
The term used above, incredible, was purposeful. It’s being offered for subjective purposes, as there aren’t too many neutral stances among B&B fans regarding this point of the plot.
Some, seemingly a small contingent, wish Bill and Steffy well. The larger portion of that same group do the same, but with a cynical attitude, in that they don’t like either character. Then, there are those who don’t like Still and wish them the worst.
Ridge became Liam’s (Scott Clifton) father figure. And, for awhile, it seemed like that connection pushed Bill’s son to make progress.
Liam found forgiveness through pain-staking efforts and was ready to remarry Steffy. But then she hesitated, due to Bill’s momentary threat, which he soon rescinded after feeling guilty. B&B wrote that gap in Bill’s character to play out over a very short time frame so that Hope (Annika Noelle) could learn she’s pregnant with Liam’s child.
Though no genetic testing was done, as everyone is taking Hope’s word for it. That potential storyline opening can be revisited some day, as sharp B&B fans noted.
Steffy’s response to her father was considered. She knew that he’d be furious with her decision. Ridge knows Steffy doesn’t actually love Bill, but he’s expecting some type blackmail scheme to be in effect, thereby forcing Steffy to have given in.
In fact, Steffy surprised Bill by going to him after she found Liam and Hope nearly ready to reply the log cabin scene that created their baby. Steffy shrewdly asked Bill for his Forrester Creation shares in return for her hand in marriage.
Bill’s instant reaction was that Steffy asked for too much. But he reversed himself when she turned her back and began to leave his office. Justin (Aaron Spears) was strongly opposed to the deal, but the papers were created and signed. All Steffy needs to do is marry Bill to officially gain his double-digit percentage share in her family’s company.
Steffy’s calculated move also sends a signal to her father. By gaining that stock power she will become a much bigger player at FC, all of which will sink into Ridge’s mind. And then an even bigger shock will set in. Bill’s bad influence over Steffy is even worse than Ridge feared, as she’s already become like him.
