The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Hilary (Mishael Morgan) and Lily (Christel Khalil) are fully engaged, again. Devon’s (Bryton James) recent business decisions brought his ex-wife and his sister under the same roof. Their battle will make his life tumultuous, as the now-developing baby issue shifts power back to Hilary.
Hilary opted to sell GC Buzz to Devon after making a life decision. A few months ago she told Mariah (Camryn Grimes) that her goals had changed. She no longer believed that the Hilary Hour was the everything of her existence. Seasoned viewers could see at that instant Y&R was telegraphing the potential of a Hevon reunion.
Clearly, Devon bought the media company that he’d given to Hilary in their amicable divorce settlement because he wanted to retain a connection with the woman he loves. Oh, he’s since said, on many occasions, that there is nothing romantic between he and Hilary. That cover masks Mr. Hamilton’s true emotions.
It’s natural to think that Devon would be protecting himself. He was burned by Hevon Part I. However, love drives internal motivations in ways that all humans can’t fully control.
What appears to be happening is reconciliation, under measured terms. Devon likely doesn’t realize that he’s testing Hilary, severely. By taking a step-by-step approach, he’s not allowing her to gain total leverage. In effect, Devon is reestablishing the terms of a new relationship.
The infinite wild card in this game is the baby that Hilary and Devon have agreed to create. Both people see the other as an ideal match. Hilary has somewhat switched places with Devon. During their first go-round, he was clearly under her thumb. This time, he’s calling the shots, or at least calling them for now.
Lily believes that whatever Devon thinks he’s doing won’t prevent Hilary from regaining control in his life. The prospect of her having his baby, with however they make that come about, would forever tie him to a person that Lily and many people within Genoa City believe is unstable.
Devon has convinced himself that he can manage Hilary. She works for him within a division of his company. She’ll have his baby, without a romance being reignited. Everything sounds a bit too logical, which it is.
But parents know that the moment Devon first sees his child via a sonogram, feels the movement that represents life within Hilary’s womb and then, holds their newborn in his arms, emotion will balance his calculation. When those scales are tipped, or possibly before, Hevon Part II will be possible, if not certain.
All of the above understandably frightens Lily, which is why she was written into the Hamilton Winters Group mix. She’s there to defend her brother. Whether Lily’s advice helps Devon will prove interesting. CDL is a leading source for everything linked to The Young and the Restless. Check back regularly for Y&R spoilers and news!
