The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Sharon’s Coma Draws Nick Back – Shick Reunion Follows Chelsea’s Departure

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Sharon's Coma Draws Nick Back – Shick Reunion Follows Chelsea's Departure

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Sharon (Sharon Case) will be hit on the back of the head. She’ll fall into a comatose state, which will draw Nick (Joshua Morrow) to her side. That dramatic development, along with Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) imminent departure sets up a potential Shick reunion.

Fans will be wondering if Chelsea conked Sharon on the noggin. Although, viewers recall that a supposedly homeless lady asserted herself at Crimson Lights a few weeks ago. That secondary character was written in a purposely suspicious manner. So possibly she’s the perpetrator, instead of Chelsea?

Egan’s departure from Y&R means that Chelsea is leaving Genoa City, unless some unknown recast has already occurred, or will take place. That means Nick is about to be single again.

Okay, let’s do the math. Subtract Dylan (Steve Burton), but add Scott (Daniel Hall). That left Sharon unavailable until Hall’s character was recently written out. He apparently bought Hashtag and was asked by Abby (Melissa Ordway) to relocate elsewhere to run it, which he’s seemingly done. Thus Sharon has no current man in her romantic life.

Let’s continue with the numerical assessment. Subtract Sage (Kelly Sullivan) through a car accident, which Sharon didn’t intend to cause but was certainly partially responsible for. Add Chelsea to Nick’s life.

Chick evolved into a nice couple. Y&R’s fans knew it was invented due to Chelsea and Nick’s single status. But both actors pulled this off and created a believable and likeable duo. Due to Egan’s exit, Chelsea will be gone. That makes Nick available.

Will executive producer and head writer Mal Young have the guts to actually put Sharon and Nick back together? For whatever set of reasons, Y&R hasn’t wanted to give one of its all-time pairings another chance since splitting Shick up in the mid-2000’s.

The Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) recast in 2014 served to stop Shick’s remarriage when Sharon and Nick were in the midst of the ceremony at the church. Phyllis’ news about Sharon having intervened in Summer’s (Hunter King) paternity results changed Nick’s nuptial intentions.

Sharon caused Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) to fall down a flight of stairs and into a coma during that time period, which was then used to write in Tognoni. Might Y&R flip the script and peg Phyllis as Sharon’s coma-causer now? Although one would think if so, the actions would have been inadvertent since both ladies are fighting together against Chelsea.

With whatever happens, or whoever hit Sharon, Nick will be drawn to Sharon’s side. And with that another opportunity to revive Shick will have arrived. Hardcore fans of that one-time couple are anxiously awaiting the soapy outcome of Mal Young’s decision. So are Shick’s detractors.
