Debbie came between Colt and Larissa. Larissa hated that her mother-in-law was around all the time and that they never got on. She also wanted Colt to take her side once in a while, but he refused to do so. He wanted his wife to respect his mother and that was never going to happen. Larissa instead came to despise him and her. They got to this point in the marriage in which neither of them wanted to stay married to each other and so they called it quits. Larissa has been threatening to do that for some time and so the only difference this time was the fact Colt was done. He had bailed Larissa out of prison twice and he never felt appreciated over this. It was times like this that Larissa could have thrown in his face that he was one that sick the cops on her and yet she didn’t do that with this last fight.

Larissa seemed to be just as done and so this was it. Their marriage was over and it ended as bitterly as it began.

Elizabeth and Andrei just had a baby. They have a beautiful daughter and she was so small that it was natural they’d be cautious about her safety. There was an issue with that when they left the hospital because Andrei hadn’t ordered the car seat in time, but they were offered one by the hospital. The one from the hospital wasn’t all that good and so Elizabeth had complained about. Only her husband didn’t like hearing her complaints. He wanted her to be grateful for the crap they got because he knew it was his fault that they didn’t have the car seat. Andrei was a very proudful man and the one thing he hated the most was when others called him out on his mistakes. He messed up with the car seat and he still doesn’t technically have a job.

Andrei is now offering his services as a handyman and so far no one has been interested in his services. People tend to want references and Andrei only has work from Moldova on his resume. He doesn’t even have anything recent because he turned down a job with Elizabeth’s father.

Ashley in the meantime was admitted to the hospital. She has Lupus you see and she could suffer a flare-up at any moment. Her chances of this increase however if she’s under stress. Hence why Ashley suffered a setback as she was getting a divorce. Her husband had cheated on her numerous times and he never once came clean with her. He truly left that to others. It was his friends that told Ashley everything and the betrayal has been too much for her. She threw Jay out of the house and quickly filed for divorce. It still didn’t stop her from being angry and depressed and so, of course, she became ill. She went to the hospital and was there by herself when she suddenly decided to reach out to Jay. Jay was in Florida with his brother and he didn’t have to come rushing back. And thankfully he did because Ashley had needed someone.

They last saw each other when Ashley dumped his stuff at his motel. He too claimed he had been hurt by how the relationship and so him showing up as he did went a long war towards them forgiving each other. Him for the cheating and her for calling the cops on him.

Russ and Paola also recently had a baby. Their son was thriving and Russ wanted to bond with his child, but his wife was standing in the way of that. Paola didn’t want to share the baby. She liked being the only one holding the baby and she pushes everyone away. She did that to her husband and her mother. Paola was even doing it to her mother-in-law Patty. Patty came from Oklahoma to meet the baby and it wasn’t until she traveled all those miles that she was told she couldn’t even pick the child up. Paola didn’t let anyone do that. Paola was willing to let Patty help out around the house and so that wasn’t enough. No grandmother should be forced into becoming someone’s maid in order to see their grandchild.

Paola called it protectiveness when really it was paranoia. She thought no one would care for the baby as she would and the truth is she doesn’t want to give anyone the chance.

Nicole needs to borrow some of that cynicism. She was far too trusting for her own good and she booked another flight to Morocco because she said she wants to see her man. Now, if only Azan felt the same about her. Nicole has been paying for Azan’s lifestyle and his tickets to travel. She thought that they would see each other in the end and there was no honest to goodness evidence to indicate he was ever going to meet up with her. Nicole gave him the money and so she has no idea what he’s done with it. He could have spent it on something else and that’s why he had to cancel their trips at the last minute. He could also be living it up in Morocco. Azan doesn’t have a job and he’s basically dependent on Nicole.

And Nicole doesn’t see this. She just told her mother that there was never a store and so six thousand dollars disappeared without anyone asking questions. Nicole also had to cancel her trip two weeks later and so three guesses as to why she continues to lose money.

Things were also tense between Andrei and his father-in-law. The older man came over to see his granddaughter for the first time and he got a look at the apartment as well. Elizabeth’s father was the one to give them the money for the deposit and so it’s odd that no one invited him over. The dad must have thought the same because he brought it up. He wondered why he wasn’t invited before then and Elizabeth told her dad that he doesn’t need an invitation. She said he’s welcomed whenever he likes. The father was happy that Elizabeth was speaking up for him, but he wanted to say a few things on top of that and so he waited for Elizabeth to leave the room before he engaged with Andrei.

Andrei likes to claim that he can provide for his family. No one knows why he says this because he doesn’t have a job and he refuses to understand how employment works in America. Andrei told his father-in-law that he can handle things and so the older man agreed. He wasn’t going to be bail the couple out anymore. Elizabeth and Andrei can now sink or swim all on their own.

Chantel and Pedro would have begged for such a chance. They have to deal with both of their families intervening in their daily lives and they both suffer from the same character flaw. They easily see how the other has wronged them and they liked to lay blame on the other’s family, but they could have overcome this by laying down boundaries. They each other could have talked to their own respective families and tell them that not to disrespect their spouses. It was such a simple measure that fact no one has done this says a lot. They don’t want to tell their families to back off because they are each overly dependent. They also don’t love each other as much as they claim if they’re still arguing over the same thing, years down the line.

Chantel and Pedro struggle as a couple because no one is putting this marriage first. It will be easier for them to get a divorce than forcing the other to change to suit themselves.

Jay and Ashley’s relationship on the other took a surprising turn. Ever since Ashley became ill, Jay has been by her side and he’s been super supportive. He took care of her and helped her not to feel so alone. It during this time that they grew close. They started to talk to each other again and its been like the past doesn’t matter anymore. They were also happier with this fresh start. They got to a good place and neither of them ever wanted to leave it again. In fact, Ashley called off the divorce. She and Jay wanted to work on their marriage and so they were going to give it another try. The lawyer did as requested though she seemed to have some doubts. Maybe the lawyer has seen it all before and maybe she knew this fresh start wasn’t going to last.

Jay and Ashley were together when he began texting sexual messages to other women. Ashley forgave him for that because Jay said he never met with these women, but then he slept with another woman and that time he tried to downplay it as it only being oral sex. Ashley knew not to trust him then and so why invite a liar back into your life?

The baby tension between Paola and Russ finally came to a head when they least suspected it. Paola came around to the idea of sharing her baby and she started to let other people hold him. Russ’s mother got her chance, Paola’s mother got her chance, and then Russ goes this chance. He was holding the baby when he banged a pot. Surprisingly that’s all took to get Paola to panic. She told Russ he couldn’t be trusted by himself (more or less) and that wasn’t fair. They got into an argument about it and both of their mothers told them to cut it out. Their first responsibility was to their son and they couldn’t do that if they were arguing all the time. They couldn’t let the birth of their first child caused them to forget about each other.

Hopefully, some of their mothers’ common sense will help Paola and Russ to take it easy while they go through new parenthood together.

Andrei had been quick to say that he can look after his own family. Except things were different once he had to prove them and the first chance of that was their second marriage. Andrei wanted a second wedding in Moldova. He promised everyone that he was coming with his family and not once did he think of the cost. He just expected Elizabeth to meet it. Elizabeth was on maternity leave and even with a good job, she was bound to lose money. So she didn’t have enough in their bank account to cover a second wedding. She got an estimate from Andrei and he said it would be about fifteen thousand. They don’t have that type of money and Elizabeth tried to tell him so. She told him that they weren’t going to be getting help from her dad and that they couldn’t afford another wedding.

And all Andrei could say is that they had an American wedding so why not a Moldovan one. It was like he was being deliberately obtuse about their finances and he told her to stop coming up with excuses. Andrei wanted to show to his friends and family and he wasn’t going to listen to Elizabeth because he didn’t really respect her.

Chantel and Pedro got back to the states and nothing was different between. They weren’t happy and most days they weren’t talking to each other either. There was no telling when this was going to change if Chantel hadn’t gotten sick of it. She confronted her husband on why he wouldn’t talk to her. She wanted to know why he stopped engaging and he said because he was upset with her for not saying goodbye to his family. His family likes to treat her like garbage and somehow she’s at fault for not wanting to take it anymore. Chantel tried to defend herself and it didn’t seem to be work with Pedro. He liked his own narrative on what happened and so Chantel brought up why she was upset. She had heard from a good friend that Pedro never loved her and that he’s always been after the green card.

Chantel asked Pedro if he only married her for a green card and he got so offended that he walked away.

But Russ and Paola have decided to work on their marriage.

And Larissa got arrested again when Debbie called the cops on her in the middle of Larissa and Colt’s argument.

THE END!
