Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers has some news to pass on about a fan-favorite DOOL star. Alison Sweeney, who portrays Sami Brady on the NBC soap, has wrapped her latest return to the show according to SOD. Sami returns periodically to visit and for various storyline arcs, and this time she had some poignant moments with her family.
As DOOL viewers know, Sami returned along with Lucas Horton (Brian Dattilo) to see their son Will Horton (Chandler Massey), who was suffering from a near-fatal brain tumor. When Sami and Lucas showed up on the scene, things were looking very bad for Will. He and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) got married and braced for the worst, but a last-minute dose of antidote ended up saving Will’s life.
But soon thereafter, Sami and her family got the terrible news that her grandmother Caroline Brady (Peggy McCay) passed away, and Sami was around for the old-fashioned Irish wake that the family held at the Brady Pub for their beloved Caroline. Sami had some touching words to impart about her Grandma Caroline – something that long-time viewers absolutely loved.
And Sami also had some classic “Sami” moments while she was in Salem for her latest visit. She spent some quality time with her twin brother Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan), and even did a happy dance when she learned that Eric and her nemesis Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) were no longer together.
But one of the best moments was the confrontation that Sami had with Nicole, who was really Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) in a Nicole mask. Sami absolutely let “Nicole” have it and ended up slapping her big time. Leave it to Sami to slap Kristen!
From here, Sami will go back to Europe where she will continue to tend to EJ DiMera (James Scott), who is still convalescing after being burned in the fire at the DiMera warehouse in Nashville. Of course, whether we will ever see EJ on screen again remains to be seen, but Days of Our Lives fans are certainly hoping to see Sami and EJ back together again.
Although we’re sad to see Sami leave, we’re grateful that Alison Sweeney was able to return for the Will storyline and for Caroline’s passing. And we’re looking forward to seeing Sami’s next visit, hopefully in the near future!
