Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that the wedding of Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and Lani Price (Sal Stowers) will get underway next week, October 28 to November 1, but whether Eli and Lani will actually tie the knot remains to be seen. The new DOOL preview for the week of October 28 is all about the drama surrounding Eli and Lani’s wedding – which is drama that Eli is completely oblivious to and is all thanks to Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus) and her revenge plot against Lani.
As DOOL viewers know, Gabi’s husband Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) was tragically killed when he flung himself in front of Vivian Alamain (Robin Strasser) as Lani was opening fire on her. Lani was just doing her job and defending herself against Vivian, who was holding her at gunpoint, and she had no idea that Stefan was anywhere nearby. Internal affairs ruled it a clean shoot, but that’s been pretty difficult for Gabi to accept.
Now Gabi is determined to make Lani pay, and she’s hell-bent on revenge. She wants to completely ruin Lani’s relationship with Eli, and she doesn’t think that Lani should get her happily-ever-after with Eli after what she’s done. So, Gabi has concocted a plan to manipulate Lani into dumping Eli at the altar…by threatening to kill Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) if Lani doesn’t comply.
According to Days of Our Lives spoilers here’s how it’s all gone down: DiMera Enterprises owns the company that manufactured the state-of-the-art pacemaker that has been implanted into Julie’s heart. Gabi finagled it so that she can control the pacemaker by remote control, through an app that she has on her phone. Apparently, all Gabi has to do is fiddle with the app and the pacemaker can alter Julie’s heart functioning.
Well, as Days viewers know, Gabi has already proven to Lani how the whole thing works – she simply pressed a button and Julie’s heart started racing. And the DOOL preview shows another instance in which both Lani and Gabi are visiting with Julie, with Gabi holding her phone and doing something to cause Julie some physical distress – all to prove to Lani that she’s totally in control here.
Now Lani’s in a bind and feels trapped, and as the Days of Our Lives promo shows, her wedding date will rapidly approach while she’s dealing with this threat from Gabi. Lani’s mother, Tamara Price (Marilyn McCoo) is shown in the promo reuniting with her daughter and with Abe Carver (James Reynolds). It will be the first time in over 20 years that Tamara has been in Salem.
Of course, Lani will be thrilled to have her mom back for the wedding, but what should be a wonderful time will be a nightmare, as she tries to figure out a way to outmaneuver Gabi and keep Julie safe while still being able to go through with the wedding. The promo clearly shows the wedding beginning, with Abe walking Lani down the aisle and greeting a very happy Eli at the altar.
But the promo also shows Gabi present at the wedding, and prominently holding her phone, ready to detonate Julie’s heart at any moment. Gabi seems to be enjoying every moment, as she anticipates Lani dumping Eli at the altar. But will Lani really do what Gabi wants, or will she find a way to quash Gabi’s plan? Fans would love to see Eli and Lani get their happy wedding day, so let’s hope that Lani finds a workaround to Gabi’s devious plot.
