Tonight on CBS Evil premieres with an all-new Thursday, October 24, 2019 episode and we have your Evil recap below. On tonight’s Evil season 1 episode 5 as per the CBS synopsis, “On Halloween night, Kristen and David are sent to assess an exorcism, but once the pair analyzes the situation, they are at odds while trying to determine whether it is a supernatural demonic possession or severe mental disease escalated by physical and mental distress.
Also, Ben goes on his favorite show, “Demon Hunters,” where he debunks their supernatural finds with fellow unbeliever Vanessa.”

Tonight on evil, Ben joins the cast of a tv show that goes to haunted places to see if there paranormal activity there or not. They go to investigate a haunted strip club. He’s a skeptic on the show there to debunk ghost theories.
He starts to talk and open up to one of the female castmates and he tells her he doesn’t believe in the supernatural world but one case caught his attention because he couldn’t explain a video he was asked to review.
David asks Kristen to do an assessment before an exorcism takes place. Kristen’s mother is on a blind date where Leland happens to be as well and he gets close to Kristen’s mother while her date comes down with a bad case of hiccups.
It’s Halloween night and Kristen asks her mother to babysit the kids to go do the assessment David asks her to do on a possessed woman named Caroline.
While at the house the kids are telling scary stories in a circle, a girl named Brenda who’s invited over keeps trying to get the girls to do scary dares and crawl into a hole but Lexis refuses and goes to tell her grandmother, as the rest of the girls stay back with Brenda.
Kristen arrives at the house David makes her put on sunglasses to avoid making eye contact with Caroline, they enter the room and the priest is praying over Caroline while she is strapped to a chair and she looks at Kristen asking for help saying they are killing her, she leaves the room where David gives her Caroline’s file, Kristen feels she should be in medical care as she’s uncomfortable with the church’s methods.
As the cast continues to search the strip club a ghost image passes in between Ben and Vanessa, he thinks it’s the crew playing tricks, then something strange happens where all their noses start bleeding. Ben doesn’t believe that the ghost was real and goes in to try to prove he’s right, he spots a hole in the wall and breaks the wall to find a projector that projects images and sprays a mist that made the cast bleed from an allergic reaction. The other castmates admit what they did and say it was a prank they were doing and this upsets Vanessa but proves Ben was right.
A medical doctor Kurt arrives to assist in the exorcism, Caroline starts to speak about David’s vision saying they are not from God but from the Devil and he is taken aback since no one else knew of them, Dr Kurt watches and says Caroline has schizophrenia and says Caroline needs medical attention while the priest says she is possessed and has a demon inside her.
Kristen and Kurt urge David and the priest to release Caroline to get medical help but they stand firm on her needing the exorcism. Kristen empties one of the holy waters and replaces it with water and the priest uses it and she responds Kristen tells the priest in an attempt to debunk she’s possessed but Caroline’s husband makes the executive decision to continue with the exorcism.
They all go back to the room Caroline begins to speak in tongues they strap her to the bed where she and David have a conversation about his visions and he tells her to tell the demon to leave her body, she faints and returns to normal Caroline awakening and asking for her husband , Dr Kurt looks on in disbelief .
Kristens mothers Sheryl gets a call from Brenda’s mother as it turns out Brenda was at homesick, and this frightens Sheryl causing her to question who’s the girl in the mask with the other kids she thought was Brenda , she runs out to find Lexi in the kitchen and asks where’s the other girls and she tells her grandmother they are at the graveyard, she frantically heads there.
The girl in the mask tells the other girls to get into a burial plot six feet deep to continue with her storytelling , the masked girl continues with her story of a girl who was badly burned by her parents and could only go out on Halloween night to feel normal, as the girl is about to lift and reveal her face Kristen and Sheryl arrive to rescue the girls.
They ask where masked Brenda is but she is seen walking down the street without her mask scaring people passing her and laughing but we never see her face.
