General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Chelsea Lambas (Jen Ray) will have a bad feeling about a member of Laura Webber’s (Genie Francis) family. She’ll talk to Laura about the issue on August 13, so Laura’s in for a shock – if she decides to put her faith in Chelsea’s abilities! Laura will seem confused and anxious when she learns this involves her son. Chelsea will insist he’s in grave danger, but which son will she be referring to?
Nikolas Cassadine (last played by Nick Stabile) is the obvious answer since he’s been talked about so much over the past few weeks. However, Laura has another son to consider – one that she knows is alive and well. She may worry this is about Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), especially if Chelsea can’t offer too many details.
Chelsea can’t control what she senses, sees and feels. She just shares what she’s given in that moment, which is undoubtedly what she’ll do with Laura. Will Laura buy what Chelsea’s selling? She should at least be a bit rattled. It’ll be awfully disconcerting to hear her son’s in danger, even though she may not entirely trust the source.
If Chelsea doesn’t know which son she’s sensing, this could spark some nervous phone calls to Lucky. Laura may just want to touch base and make sure he’s OK. Then again, Chelsea might be able to describe Nikolas and ultimately confirm he’s the son in question. She may insist that Nikolas survived, but he could be facing true death if he doesn’t get help immediately.
Based on all the Nikolas mentions and the way the story’s been set up so far, we’d say Nikolas’ comeback is brewing. The moment Sibley Gamble (Veronica Cartwright) couldn’t feel Nik’s presence on the other side, things seemed to be in motion.
Still, it’s worth considering a surprise Lucky recast. After all, GH did a Nikolas comeback fake-out when Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) returned. Ava suspected Nikolas might be under that mask, but Jason was the one held captive at the Russian clinic. Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) also dropped blood atop Nik’s name on the Cassadine family tree, so all the signs were pointing to Nikolas at the time.
Of course, Steve Burton’s return was HUGE news that the show promoted heavily. Most fans weren’t fooled by the fake-out as a result, but things could be different with an unknown recast stepping into another role. In other words, General Hospital has teased a Nikolas comeback and shifted to a different character before. They could creae a similar situation here.
On the other hand, the fact that they already did that could make it less likely they’ll repeat themselves. General Hospital writers might decide to make this story a little more straightforward. Whatever the case, Laura will learn her son’s in big trouble and may hope she can get some help for him. Chelsea just has to get Laura to trust her first!
