General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) may be courting trouble. As GH viewers know, she’s been enjoying a new flirtation with Dustin Phillips (Mark Lawson), the hunky new teacher at Port Charles High School. She and Dustin enjoyed a hot hookup on The Haunted Star a while back – a hookup that was interrupted by Lulu’s mom Laura Collins (Genie Francis) in an embarrassing (and humorous) scene.
Well, it all seemed to viewers like Lulu was due for a fun fling – after all, she had been moping around after Dante Falconeri (Dominick Zamprogna) divorced her, and she really needed a little happiness and fun in her life again.
And so it was great to see her getting along well with a new guy who by all accounts seems to be a good person with no apparent baggage. Even Rocco Falconeri (O’Neill Monahan) seems to like Dustin, which is a huge plus.
Is There Something Strange Lurking Under The Surface?
But could there be something lurking under the surface with Dustin? He almost seems too good to be true for Lulu…good looking, single, easygoing, and kind. He’s just what she seems to need right now in light of her breakup from Dante, but could there be another side to Dustin that we haven’t seen yet…perhaps a sinister or unsavory side?
We couldn’t help but notice that Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) doesn’t care for the guy, but it seems that she is simply reacting to the fact that he’s interested in Lulu and that he’s not her son Dante. She’s been pretty vocal about not liking the fact that Lulu has moved on from Dante so quickly, and that’s come across rather abrasively, but might she have a point?
It seems that all of Olivia’s upheaval about Dustin could be going somewhere. Not much is known about Dustin at this point, just that he’s a new teacher and an occasional ride share driver. One wonders about his background, his significant prior relationships, and what he might be hiding about his past. On soaps, when characters first appear to be too good to be true, they generally are.
Is It All Just Part Of A Big Romantic Conflict For Lulu Falconeri?
Of course, Dustin could just be the nice guy who ultimately wins Lulu’s (and Rocco’s) heart before Dante makes a future comeback, setting up a big romantic conflict for Lulu. It could be as simple as that, but we sense that something could be brewing under the surface with Dustin. Time will tell, but the fact that he and Lulu got together so quickly seems like a big red flag.
The good news here is that Lulu seems to be cautious about the whole situation. She’s not rushing into a relationship, despite her quick hookup with Dustin, and neither is he. She wants to take things slowly with him from a relationship standpoint, which seems like a good move.
