General Hospital Spoilers: Wednesday, January 16 Update – Lucy’s Plans Set Up Murder – Maxie’s Tight Spot – Ava Shocks Scott

General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Wednesday, January 16, tease that Mike Corbin (Max Gail) will have trouble recognizing his loved ones again. This time his difficult episode may last longer than ever before. An agitated Mike will snap at Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). He’ll be especially combative with Sonny, who’ll be chewed out and warned to stay away.

That’s certainly bad news for this family, but at least Carly and Sonny will too busy to get murdered! Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) put them on his hit list, so anything that keeps them preoccupied and far away from him is a good thing. Meanwhile, Ryan will take his request to Laura Collins (Genie Francis). He’ll hope Port Charles’ new mayor can help him, but she’ll insist on declining.

Laura will seem annoyed by Ryan’s appeal, so it may have something do to with Ava Jerome (Maura West). Then again, this could be about shutting down any lingering Ferncliff plans. Ryan’s desperate to keep his swap secret under wraps, so he doesn’t need anyone digging around. Of course, that’s exactly what Lulu Falconeri (Emme Rylan) is doing. She could land in hot water over it soon, too!

For now, Lulu will struggle to get the info she’s looking for. After she runs into trouble at the PCPD, Peter August (Wes Ramsey) will offer an alternative. He’ll think Lulu has to look elsewhere for answers if the cops won’t pitch in. Lulu might decide to pay “Dr. Kevin Collins” aka Ryan a visit, but that could be a disastrous choice. Her name could be added just under Sonny’s if she’s not careful.

Other General Hospital spoilers say Ava will seem glum as she meets with Scott Baldwin (Kin Shiner). She’ll suggest that Scott won’t be seeing her around town anymore, so he’ll wonder what’s up. Ava may admit that she’s thinking about leaving Port Charles with “Kevin.” She couldn’t get the custody arrangement she wanted, but she may want to take off anyway and just see Avery Corinthos (Ava and Grace Scarola) whenever she can.

Scott won’t understand what’s gotten into Ava, but it’s grief that’s the problem. She’s still a mess over Kiki Jerome’s (Hayley Erin) death, but maybe Scott can offer a pep talk. He might convince Ava that PC is where she needs to be. Ava has to keep hoping for justice and keep her other little girl close for comfort.

Maxie West (Kirsten Storms) will also find herself in a tight spot on Wednesday. Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) and Mac Scorpio (John J. York) will corner her at Crimson. They’ll be concerned about Lucy Coe’s (Lynn Herring) book event, which could bring deadly danger. Jordan will want to put a stop to this before someone else gets hurt. This party could turn into a crime scene if they don’t shut it down.

However, GH spoilers say this may be out of Maxie’s control. She might insist that Jordan should take it up with Lucy. Unless Jordan can come up with a legal reason to cancel the event, Lucy will probably keep the plan intact. As a result, Mac will urge Peter to monitor Maxie’s activities and make sure she stays safe. He’ll count on Peter to protect Maxie, so you can bet Peter will get the job done.

Finally, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) will spend some quality time with Stella Henry (Vernee Watson). He’ll listen as she opens up about her latest struggles, which undoubtedly involve Mike, Marcus Godfrey (Nigel Gibbs) and Yvonne Godfrey (Janet Hubert). Curtis will give Stella a pep talk and hope that she goes easy on herself. She’s been doing her best to help all parties involved.
