General Hospital (GH) spoilers has some news to pass on about a former GH star. As GH viewers know, Hayley Erin recently reprised her role of Kiki Jerome for one episode on the ABC soap. In the episode, her on-screen mom, Ava Jerome (Maura West) dreamed about her deceased daughter, and the two had a contentious conversation which didn’t at all serve to alleviate Ava’s guilt. It was great to see Hayley Erin back on the show, if only for one episode.
Well, now some fans are wondering whether we might see Hayley make a more permanent comeback to General Hospital. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Hayley’s Freeform show, ‘Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists,’ has been canceled. PLL: The Perfectionists was a spinoff of Pretty Little Liars, which ran for seven seasons. Unfortunately, PLL: The Perfectionists aired for just one season, and will not be renewed for more.
While this is sad news for Hayley, could it possibly mean a return of her character Kiki to General Hospital? It could get a little tricky, given that Kiki was brutally murdered by Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom), with her body being found by Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry) and Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) on The Haunted Star.
It might take some creative storytelling to get Kiki back on canvas, since we’re not talking the death of a character whose body was never found, or whose body was shown being taken by some villain right before burial, etc. Kiki clearly died, and her body was identified by her mother, as it was being removed from the crime scene.
Plus, Kiki was “communicated with” by two psychics hired by Ava, so presumably she was being channeled from beyond the grave. Yet, characters have certainly come back from the dead on soaps before, so if Kiki were to be revealed to have somehow survived her ordeal with Ryan, it wouldn’t really be that unusual. Plus, there’s always the possibility that Hayley could return as a Kiki lookalike who could serve to torment Ava, which would be an interesting twist.
At any rate, it will be interesting to see where Hayley Erin lands next, after the cancellation of PLL: The Perfectionists. It would be great to see her back on GH, but wherever she ends up, we wish her the best!
