The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) return will bring plenty of surprises. Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) has been feeling a bit unfulfilled lately, so he could use something to keep him busy. You can bet his brother’s comeback will do the trick. This will open the door to all kinds of storylines, but let’s focus on the three main battles that are brewing.
For starters, there’s Christian Newman (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen). Y&R fans know that Christian is Adam’s biological son, but he wanted that kept quiet. Adam thought it’d be best for Nick to believe Christian was his son instead.
Nick was devastated when he found out the truth, but he’s still raising Christian as his own child. Once Adam’s back in the picture, things could obviously change. Adam may blame Nick for not protecting Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan), who ultimately when on the run with Connor Newman (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) after she got caught conning again.
Chelsea feared Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) wrath, which was the reason for her money-related deception. However, it’s easy to imagine Victor smoothing things over. Since Nick was actually engaged to Chelsea, Adam could resent Nick and pin most of the blame on him. If Adam can’t track down Chelsea and Connor fast enough, he might decide to take his other son back.
This could lead to a fierce custody battle and really stir up some conflict for the Newman brothers. Of course, Adam’s revenge might not stop there! He could also join Victor at Newman Enterprises and start a corporate war with Nick. Will Adam make it his mission to destroy everything Nick’s built at Dark Horse? That’d be another great angle for The Young and the Restless to work.
Chelsea will likely return at some point, even if it’s in the form of a recast. That would present a third battle opportunity. Nick and Adam both loved her, so Y&R could kick off a love triangle. If the show intends to hold off on Chelsea’s comeback, Adam could always steal Nick’s next love interest away from him. He might feel it would serve Nick right.
Whatever the case, Nick may be one of the characters who’s most affected by Adam’s return.
