The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) will keep a dangerous secret. In fact, it could be dangerous in more ways than one! For starters, the fact that Devon’s keeping secrets at all is troubling. A good relationship is built on honesty, not deception.
Devon is setting himself up for trouble by hiding things from Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy). We’ll give him a pass for not coming clean about his dream where Hilary Hamilton (Mishael Morgan) turned into Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). It’d probably be best if Devon opened up to Elena about that, but we get why he was rattled enough to keep it private. Devon can’t control what he dreams, so that wasn’t as big of a deal as his next secret.
On the episode airing December 12, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) gives Devon a file on Amanda. He notes that Amanda had her history wiped clean by a company around the time Colin Atkinson started his con job. That gives Devon another reason to be wary of Amanda, who he loathes for having the face of his dead wife. Devon just can’t handle being anywhere near Amanda, so he’ll hope he can get rid of her if he keeps digging.
After Devon tucks the file away in a drawer, he’ll take off and leave Elena to make a shocking discovery. During the week of December 16-20, Elena will be floored when she stumbles across the file and sees all the dirt inside. She’ll realize Devon’s obsession is truly out of control. Elena will fear Devon’s going to ruin Amanda’s life and perhaps his own if he can’t get a grip.
Elena was quite wary of Amanda for quite some time, so it’s possible some of her old worries will creep back in. That may depend on how many file details she looks at! Even if she has some concerns about Amanda’s own secrets, Elena’s bound to think this is a huge invasion of privacy. She may even suspect Amanda has a great reason to run from her past and urge Devon to just leave her alone.
That’s not something Devon’s willing to do right now, so this will lead to some serious Y&R conflict. Elena could easily argue that this just isn’t the guy she fell in love with. Devon isn’t someone Elena expected to deceive her, and she never thought he’d target a woman who should be innocent until proven guilty.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Devon will stand his ground and suggest that maybe Elena just deserves better. It doesn’t sound like Devon will shift his stance on Amanda at all, so this will be a real crossroads for Devon and Elena. Some tough moments are coming up, but “Elevon” may be drawn back together through a terrible ordeal this Christmas.
