The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Friday, December 27 Review - Lola Admits Texting Theo - Abbotts Mourn Neil, Celebrate Dina

The Young and the Restless spoilers review for Friday, December 27, tease that Christmas will be upon Genoa City, and Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) will be back in town to celebrate with family. She’ll catch up with Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) in the morning and they’ll be excited about the evening’s family dinner plans at Society, although they’ll be disappointed that Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) won’t be able to join them, as the restaurant would overwhelm her.

Meanwhile, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will be at home and on the phone, frustrated that his big business deal isn’t getting done in a timely manner. He’ll text Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) saying that he’s stuck in town overnight, and she’ll send him a humorous reply right as Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) walks in and startles Billy. He’ll insist that Billy join them at Society for dinner, and Billy will say he’ll be there. Once Jack leaves, he’ll text Amanda back and ask her if she wants to get together later.

At Society, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle) will prepare for the Abbott Christmas dinner. They’ll joke around and have a good time until Theo Vanderway’s (Tyler Johnson) name comes up. Lola will remark that Theo has other plans for the evening, and Kyle will ask how she knows that. She’ll admit that they text each other, which will irk Kyle, but he’ll eventually apologize.

Over at Crimson Lights, Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) will be feeing down because she misses Fenmore “Fen” Baldwin (Zach Tinker). Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) will comfort her, and they’ll suddenly get a call from Fen. Michael will put him on speakerphone and as they’re talking, he’ll show up in the doorway. Lauren will be thrilled to have her son home for Christmas, and they’ll sit down to talk.

Fen will tell his parents that he’s out of rehab, and that he’s now living in a halfway house. Turns out, his relapse was very serious, and he’ll take the opportunity to personally apologize to Michael and Lauren and ask for their forgiveness. He’ll say that he felt like a disappointment, but Michael and Lauren will say that they are proud of him and that he could never be a disappointment. They’ll then invite him to the Abbott dinner.

Back at Society, everyone will start gathering for dinner. Abby and Ashley will catch up on Abby’s firing of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), and later Ashely will wonder if Billy knows that she’ll be there – Jack will say that he does. Fen will congratulate Lola and Kyle on their marriage, and after Billy arrives, he’ll learn about Fen’s ordeal with relapse. Fen will say that he felt that he couldn’t trust himself anymore, but now he’s being the best version of himself that he can be. Billy will listen intently to that.

Jack will then say a few words to the group. He’ll offer thanks for everyone who’s there and for all the good things they’ve experienced in 2019. He’ll also remark on Dina’s condition, and how they lost Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) this year. Everyone will heartily toast to a merry Christmas. Later, Billy will close his big deal on the phone with his team.

As the dinner winds down, Traci will surprise everyone with copies of her new novel. and everyone will gradually disperse. It will be established that Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) is spending the holiday with Nina Webster (Tricia Cast), and that Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) and Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) are spending a quiet holiday at home with their family.

Michael, Fen, and Lauren will leave, and as they’re on their way out, Fen will give his parents an antique compass as a symbol of them being there to guide him. He’ll tell them that they saved his life, and they’ll have a nice family moment and a group hug.

Back at their apartment, Kyle and Lola will spend some time alone enjoying their first Christmas together. They’ll then exchange gifts. Kyle will give Lola a book on the best restaurants, along with a voucher to travel to any one of them. Lola will give Kyle a framed photo of the night sky in Idaho’s light sky reserve, and she’ll tell him that she booked a cabin for them there so they could enjoy it in person. They’ll kiss happily.

Meanwhile, at home, Billy will talk to Victoria and the kids by phone, saying that he’s going to bed so he can get up early for his flight to Telluride the next morning. He’ll tell Victoria that he loves her, then he’ll look at a text from Amanda and consider spending time with her, but ultimately he’ll end up playing solitaire and drinking beer by himself.

Finally, Dina will take in the Abbott family Christmas tree along with Jack, Traci, Abby, and Ashley. She’ll comment on all the presents, and she’ll soon learn that they’re all for her. After opening presents, Jack will read a Christmas story to the group, and Ashley and Traci will thank Jack for giving them all such a beautiful memory. He’ll them remark that he should have arranged for carolers.

At that point, Traci will start to sing Oh Come All Ye Faithful. It will be beautiful, and Dina will love it so much that she’ll stand and start singing along. Pretty soon, they’ll all be singing and will join hands and wish each other a Merry Christmas.
