The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Ian Ward Is the Villain Genoa City Needs – Will Ray Wise Return?

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the CBS soap is still going through some big changes. Several storylines are wrapping up and others are just kicking off. Some characters are on their way out while we await more debuts, recasts and returns. It’s an exciting time at Y&R, so we have to consider what else they might have in store.

Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) comeback is rapidly approaching, so that’ll give the show some drama to play around with. However, we can’t help but notice Y&R’s lack of a truly dark villain. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has been showing his softer side for a while now. Even his feud with Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) has died down for now.

Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) has definitely pulled some dirty stunts, but she arguably had a good reason. Jack treated Ash like garbage when he used the blood-Abbott clause against her. Ashley was hurt deeply, so it’s no wonder she duped Jack about his paternity and is still going after him now. Some healthy competition could keep Jabot moving in a positive direction anyway.

Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) does some scheming here and there, but she’s not exactly a character who can provoke real fear. Even Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez) is just jealous and vindictive, not a dark force to be reckoned with. It’s true that she attacked Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) thinking she was Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), but that was really just a simple shove.

Where’s the villain who can rock Genoa City? Will Y&R bring someone like that in the picture? It’d be nice if we could get a visit from Ian Ward (Ray Wise). It’s been a long time since Ian stirred up trouble, so we’re rooting for his comeback.

The timing would be great since Adam’s headed home. Ian could somehow fit into Adam and Victor’s upcoming story. He might even shake things up for Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) again one of these days. She’s opened up about her difficult upbringing in the cult several times, so Y&R could reignite some drama for her and deliver a few curveballs.

Of course, Ian could cause issues for other characters as well. He’s capable of true darkness, so he might be exactly what The Young and the Restless needs. Wise was recently featured in an episode of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, so he’s still working hard and doing creepy projects. There’s no reason why Wise can’t be lured back to Y&R!

Would you like to see Ray Wise make a comeback as Ian Ward? The Young and the Restless spoilers say some hot action’s ahead no matter what, so stay tuned. We’ll give you updates as other Y&R news comes in. Stick with the CBS soap and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Young and the Restless spoilers, updates, and news.
