The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) deception will bring more chaos. He’s not the only one in on Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) “death” scheme, but he’s definitely in the loop. Nick shared some meaningful looks with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) during their charade. He also exchanged a significant glance with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), who was clearly battling guilt over his own dishonesty.
That’s partly because Summer Newman (Hunter King) was completely devastated. She asked Nate if there was anything else he could’ve done, which led to Nate’s admission that he’d done all he could to help her grandfather. Summer just doesn’t realize Nate’s helping in a far different way. He’s pitching in on this fake death plan, which is bound to make some waves.
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) certainly isn’t going to be happy when the truth comes out. She’ll undoubtedly rage at Nick for deceiving their daughter. Naturally, Nick should blame Phyllis for that. He may point the finger at Phyllis for helping Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) hack Nate’s tablet. Nick might contend that Phyllis’ partnership with Adam is why they had to keep Summer in the dark.
However, Nick doesn’t get absolved of all cruelty here. He’s still making the choice to his own child. Nick could’ve told Summer about their tablet suspicions and got her on their side. Summer’s turned against her mother over far less than that, including Phyllis’ trip to Vegas. Nick may feel like they just couldn’t take the risk, but it seems like Summer would’ve gotten on board.
Summer herself will also be furious when the truth is exposed. She’ll be relieved that Victor’s alive, but she’ll probably lash out at both her parents. Phyllis shouldn’t have enabled Adam and Nick shouldn’t have let Summer suffer. She may not want either one of them in her life for a while.
Of course, The Young and the Restless spoilers say that’ll bring some interesting developments. Will Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) offer up a shoulder to cry on? Could Summer’s pain actually bring Nick and Phyllis together down the road? There’ll be a lot of places to go with this storyline, so Y&R fans won’t want to miss all the action.
