The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that the cast of the CBS soap is back at work after a holiday break. All the usual suspects are returning to set, but one surprising cast member was also spotted. Summer Newman (Hunter King) recently left town for a Newman Enterprises job in Dubai. It seemed like the kind of exit that could keep her away for quite a while, but King’s already working again on the Y&R set.
Of course, Summer will have a great reason to return home soon enough. Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) will need her daughter after the truth about J.T. Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) death blows up. It’s not like Phyllis has a lot of loved ones in town to support her. Phyllis’ relationship with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is probably set to explode soon, so Summer may be the only one in her mom’s corner.
Will Summer end up sticking around for love? There’s no word yet on whether this will be a quick trip or a lengthy comeback, but Summer has some unfinished business in the romance department. She got closure with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) before she left, but was it really enough?
Summer has undoubtedly been busy pining for her ex in Dubai. She would love to have another shot with Kyle, but Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) is in her way. However, there are a couple things Summer would have going for her in this Y&R love triangle. Lola flips out when Kyle tries to show her the finer things in life, but Summer’s from a similar rich background and would have no qualms about that.
Lola also happens to be a virgin and Summer would gladly sleep with Kyle anytime he wanted. Kyle’s currently willing to wait, but what if Lola’s anger erupts over nothing again? What if Summer returns just in time to provide some temptation? There are some good possibilities brewing thanks to Summer’s Young and the Restless comeback.
Fen “Fenmore” Baldwin (Zach Tinker) could even get in on this and make it a love quad, so expect major drama!
