The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will be at his wit’s end with Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson). As Y&R viewers know, he’s just found out that Theo is his cousin and the grandson of Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams) and Stuart Brooks (Robert Colbert). That doesn’t make Kyle happy at all, since he absolutely can’t stand Theo, who used to be his party buddy back during his New York days.
All Kyle has wanted for months is for Theo to just go away. He figured that Theo would probably hang around Genoa City for a while, until he got tired of dating Summer Newman (Hunter King). But Theo has stayed, and now he’s starting to develop a friendship with Lola Abbott (Sasha Calle), and that really irks Kyle. Kyle thinks that Lola is too prone to see the good in people and that she doesn’t realize that Theo’s manipulating her to get to him.
Well, Kyle has been beside himself ever since he found out that Theo might be his cousin. And now that the DNA has confirmed the relation, Kyle just wants his family to be careful of its newest member. Kyle sees Theo as an opportunist and a taker, and he doesn’t want his own safe haven to be infiltrated by this person. But unfortunately for Kyle, it looks like Theo’s going to infiltrate Kyle’s life in a big way.
Kyle Abbott May Point Out Theo Vanderway Is Not An Abbott
From Kyle’s perspective, Theo has infringed on his marriage by getting closer to Lola, and now he’s going to worm his way into the rest of Kyle’s family as well. It’s going to cause Kyle significant stress, but what if Theo ends up infiltrating the last safe haven that Kyle’s got…Jabot?
It doesn’t seem like it will be long before Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) might want to include Theo into the Abbott legacy. Of course, Theo isn’t exactly an Abbott, since his grandfather isn’t John Abbott (Jerry Douglas), which is something that Kyle might be quick to point out.
Still, Theo’s directly related to Dina, and so we might see Jack, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) decide to bring Theo into the fold. Since Dina was a large part of building the Abbott empire, they may decide that Theo should be included in Jabot if he’d like to be…and you just know that Theo will want to be a part of the whole thing. And this would be incredibly difficult for Kyle to handle.
Kyle Abbott Already Handling Jabot Difficulties With Billy Abbott
Of course, we should remember that Kyle is already facing difficulty at work with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), who basically treats Kyle like he’s a little kid who doesn’t know what he’s doing. Kyle’s been achieving great things at Jabot with Summer, but Billy barely acknowledges their considerable contribution. Things will only get worse for Kyle if Theo comes on at Jabot and complicates things with his working relationship with Summer, since Billy will surely pounce if he senses that Kyle is having difficulties.
At any rate, Y&R buzz says there’s good chance that Jack will force Kyle and Billy to bring Theo on in some capacity at Jabot, and given Theo’s talents with managing influencers and social media campaigns, he’ll probably assigned to work closely with Kyle and Summer, which seems like a real recipe for disaster at this point. We’ll see if that comes to fruition, but if it does, then it seems pretty certain that Kyle’s life will completely blow up.
