The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Y&R Cast Says Goodbye To Beloved Colleague

The Young and the Restless spoilers has some news to pass on about the retirement of a special member of the Y&R family. Ray Thompson, a senior lighting designer on the CBS soap, has retired after 40 years of service.

The Y&R cast and crew threw Ray a retirement party to celebrate his many years on the show. Ray has won multiple Daytime Emmy awards for lighting over the years, and he’ll be sorely missed by his colleagues.

Christian Le Blanc, who portrays Michael Baldwin on Y&R, posted a picture of himself, Ray, and various cast and crew members on Twitter, with the following message: “Our ‘Lord of Lumens’ @YRInsider lighting designer RAY THOMPSON retired yesterday after 40 years. We will miss him dearly! We wish him and his beautiful wife @TrueDaleRaoul all the best LOVE YA RAY!”

Gina Tognoni, who portrays Phyllis Summers, got in on the festivities as well. She posted a photo of herself, Melissa Ordway (Abby), Camryn Grimes (Mariah), and Hunter King (Summer) on Instagram enjoying themselves at the retirement party.

We should note that Ray’s wife, Dale Raoul, is in show business herself. She’s an actress best known for portraying Maxine Fortenberry on HBO’s True Blood. She’s also appeared in various other TV series, including Bones, Young Sheldon, and Fresh Off The Boat.

We wish Ray the best in his retirement! Stay tuned to the CBS soap and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest Young and the Restless spoilers, updates, and news.
