Bird wants to get into Noah’s fire safe. He decides to show her what he has in the safe and it isn’t anything she thinks is exciting; books.

Bird and Gabe get back to work on the family home. Billy and Ami need to stay in a warm home given Billy’s health issues but the winter is making things difficult. Gabe loses the drill in the foundation. He lowers Bird down to grab it with her feet. After a few tries, they are successful. Meanwhile, Noah and his family search for useful scraps to make a snowplow.

Bam directs the siblings as they erect the first wall in the home they are building. Bam gets annoyed when Noah takes the lead but Bam does realize he can be difficult to work with. Meanwhile, Bear is in the woods alone to clear his head after some personal issues have hit him hard. He pitches a tent in the snow thinking about how he has been told he is going to be a dad.

Bird makes slippers out of pack rats she has trapped while Noah and Rhain Alicia work to attach their new plow. Bam and Gabe struggle to raise another wall, getting it in place with a lot of wind. After resurrecting one wall they move on to the next but it is too heavy. They decide to use the truck to lift the longwall up. Bam doesn’t think it will work but Gabe seems determined.

Noah’s plow idea works. Rhain Alicia is very excited. She hops on the plow and they head out to clear. Meanwhile, Bird works on her rat slippers. The producer asks her if she is okay. She says she is.

Bear is still out in the wilderness, cooking dinner on fire while he takes time away. He thinks becoming a father is a blessing. His life is going to change. He is scared he may not be as great a dad as his father. Billy thinks he is going to do great. Bear heads to bed for the night.

Gabe arrives at Bird’s to check on her. She tells her they have been worried about her. She shows off her rat slippers. He is grossed out. She gets him to try on the slippers. He is still creeped out. He thinks she needs a boyfriend and spends too much time with her cats.

Bam and Gabe are back at the main house site to try and raise the heaviest wall. Bam tells Gabe to be careful and not get under the wall. They decide to attach a pulley to a tree. Gabe climbs the tree and loses his pliers. Bam is annoyed.

Noah drops by Bird’s to collect bottle caps, the family currency. After they try to pull up the wall it doesn’t work and they are forced to stop. Gabe feels bad. He blames himself. Bam is surprisingly patient. Gabe is happy and they work to fix things.

Bird and the other siblings bring their bottle caps to the barn for some poker with Bear. Bear keeps his emotions in check. They all show their support for him. They think he will be a great dad.
