Tonight’s it is the semi-finals of DWTS  and the show opens live from Hollywood with host Tyra Banks walking out to “Gasolina” by Daddy Yankee.  Tyra announces the dancer will dance two dances tonight and there will be a double elimination.  Time for the dancing to start!

We are starting off with the Redemption dances – In the first round, celebrities will repeat a dance style they struggled with earlier in the season with a new song.

Disney Channel actress Skai Jackson  and pro Alan Bersten will perform a redemption Cha Cha to “Move Your Feet” by Junior Senior

Judges comments: Bruno: “I love you!  I am so proud, my little golden girl brought some extra bling to the Cha-Cha.  Your legs were so much better!” Carrie Ann: “I thought it was amazing, on point, so crisp.  The first time you had. amess up this time well done.”  Derek: “Just your confidence your so sharp, so confident.  This is my favorite dress of the season.  That was a brilliant dance.” SCORES: Carrie Ann:  9  Bruno: 9   Derek: 9 = 27/30

Actress Justina Machado (“One Day at a Time”) and pro Sasha Farber will perform a redemption Tango to “El Tango de Roxanne” from “Moulin Rouge”

Judges comments: Derek: “First of all that intro, the attack, the passion, the energy.  You had the passion, I saw you reset. So good, loved it, well done”. Bruno:  “That was what I was waiting for.  A total change of intention which allowed you to drive through the right feeling so much better.”  Carrie Ann: “You were on fire.  You are always passionate but tonight a new sensuality.  A wonderful dance.” SCORES: Carrie Ann: 9   Bruno: 9   Derek: 10 = 28/30

Olympic figure skater and on-air commentator Johnny Weir and pro Britt Stewart will perform a redemption Salsa to “X” by Jonas Brothers featuring Karol G

Judges comments: Carrie Ann: “I felt you were much more in control.  I am so proud of you.  There was a little misstep but it is still about growth.  I saw the work I wanted to see.”  Bruno: “That was a tough routine, it was fantastic.  Well done! WoW, you are wearing Cuban heels!”  Bruno: “You take the point and you work at it.  You maintained the fluidity in the Salsa.  There was a little incident but a great dance! SCORES: Carrie Ann:  9  Bruno:   9 Derek: 9 TOTAL: 27/30

GRAMMY®-winning rapper Nelly and pro Daniella Karagach will perform a redemption Paso Doble to “Run Boy Run” by Woodkid

Judges comments: Bruno: “Megatron no more, you can see the artists.  I can see shape, what I love is you used restraint.  I appreciate you put so much work.  Thank you!”  Carrie Ann:  Agreed, looking good you danced that with power.  I love how much control you had over your body.  There was a little flat-footed but you told the story.”  Derek.  “There is an improvement.  Your focus was so captivating.  For me, there is a lot of percussion in the song.  I would have liked a little more attack.  But it was good and smooth.” SCORES: Carrie Ann: 9   Bruno: 9   Derek: 8 = 26/30

TV host Nev Schulman (“Catfish”) and pro Jenna Johnson will perform a redemption Foxtrot to “Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles

Judges comments: Derek: “WOW, WOW.  I just have to point out the beginning of that dance brings me back to my competition days.  It was pure Foxtrot.  You were in control throughout the whole routine.”  Bruno: “You are a class act.  You never lost it.  Even your bum was in control.  So in tune with Jenna.  It was brilliant.”  Carrie Ann: “From the first step it was incredible.  Talk about master the technique you have become a true Ballroom artist.”  SCORES: Carrie Ann: 10   Bruno: 10   Derek: 10 = 30/30
