Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) could help someone surprising down the road. DOOL fans know Ben was always stepping up as a hero for Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal), but she’s out of the picture for now.
Ben needs other stories to keep him busy until Ciara ultimately returns – and DOOL may have offered some hints about his next one.
Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams) recently confessed to Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) that he was the one who framed Ben as a fire-starter, so that plot point may have served two purposes.
For starters, it was a reminder that Tripp has done some shady things in the past – setting up the doubts almost everyone’s about to face about Tripp’s innocence.
However, it was perhaps also a way to set up Ben’s involvement in Tripp and Allie’s storyline. Lindsay Arnold read with Robert Scott Wilson to score the part of Allie, so it makes sense that Ben will eventually jump in here.
Tripp approached Ben at the pub on October 2 and offered his sympathy over the Ciara situation, so Days may put Ben on Tripp’s side soon.
All signs pointed to Ben being Jordan Ridgeway’s (Chrishell Stause) murderer, but Ciara was always in Ben’s corner. Of course, the rest of Salem thought Ben killed his own sister – just like a good chunk of Salem will be convinced Tripp raped Allie.
Ben may take pity on Tripp, especially since Ciara did care for Tripp once upon a time. It’s easy to imagine Tripp telling Ben he’d never rape a woman – especially not after seeing the pain Ciara’s own rape brought her.
It could be something that bonds Tripp and Ben as this story heats up.
That brings us to another way these stories might be connected. Think back to when Ben was about to be executed. Remember how Ciara uncovered last minute DNA evidence that pointed the finger at Evan Frears aka Christian Maddox (Brock Kelly)?
Allie’s story is also one that will be resolved by a matter of DNA evidence. The person who fathered Allie’s baby, Henry Horton, is her rapist.
If a DNA test clears Tripp, he’ll still probably take an interest in helping Allie solve the mystery. Tripp will want answers about that night, too – and Ben may be the perfect person to pitch in.
We know Evan is headed back to Days of Our Lives thanks to DOOL’s fall promo. Some fans are convinced Evan couldn’t be Allie’s rapist because he was in Salem at Christmas, but Christmas break is a decent-sized window of time.
How do we know Evan didn’t take an offscreen trip to London around then? It only takes one horrible night.
This certainly seems to be a case of mistaken identity, so who could’ve raped Allie besides Tripp? Evan was the father of Jordan’s son, David Ridgeway, and she viewed Evan as a total monster.
He was a classic “good on the surface, terrible human underneath” kind of character, which fits perfectly for a rapist and killer.
It just feels like everything’s going to fit together one way or another. Ben’s involvement suggests he might help crack the case and point the finger at Evan. We know Evan’s DNA is on file at the Salem PD, so it’ll be easy to test if new clues point in Evan’s direction.
