Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that the recent attack on Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) opened up some new mysteries. Those thugs came looking for Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash), but they ended up cornering Ben at the garage instead. When the baddies argued that Jake should hand “it” over, Ben assured them he had no idea what they were talking about.
Of course, these goons were told by their boss that Jake might try to play dumb. They added that “he” gave them detailed instructions on what would happen if Jake did. Let’s look at the clues we can gather from all that. What it all boils down to is this: a male character is hounding Jake about something he’s supposed to possess.
Notice those thugs didn’t say things like, “Where’s the money?” or “Give us the cash.” They wanted Jake to hand “it” over. So…what is IT?! To answer that, we may have to determine who those thugs were working for. There’s a good chance Jake is working for the same person.
Jake later called someone to insist he got the message and to call off his goons. Jake added, “I’m doing the best I can.” It sounds like maybe Jake was hired to retrieve something. That’d explain why he’s doing his best to get his hands on this mysterious “it.”
So let’s keep putting this Days puzzle together. What elusive object is in Salem? We can think of one noteworthy DOOL item. After Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) broke free from Stefano DiMera aka Steve Johnson’s (Stephen Nichols) spell, he took off the Phoenix ring.
Abigail DiMera (Kate Mansi) had kind of a weird, significant moment where she hid that ring in a drawer.
Could Jake be after the Phoenix ring? If so, could Stefano DiMera be pulling the strings in some new form besides Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols)?
Chad and Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) destroyed the microchip with Stefano’s memories, but they pointed out something that may be important. They couldn’t be sure of how many others Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) might’ve made.
After all, there surely would’ve been some backups. This is Stefano DiMera! Dr. Rolf may have made hundreds of microchips for all Salem knows. The Phoenix always manages to rise again.
Given Days of Our Lives writers’ penchant for repeating certain elements of the story, we wouldn’t be surprised if there’s another version of Stefano out there.
Whether Jake is Jake or actually Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) is another story entirely, but it’d be interesting if “Stefano” hired him to get back the Phoenix ring – and cause some mayhem in the process! We’ll pass along updates as other Days news rolls in.
