Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers update for Wednesday, July 8, teases that Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) will make a stunning announcement. Justin just halted his wedding to Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) – and there’s a great reason why. DOOL fans know Justin’s been wrestling with the truth, but it’s time to expose it. Justin will let Kayla know exactly how Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) feels about her.
Kayla will be taken aback when she learns Steve still wants to reunite. Before Kayla hears the whole story, she’ll probably assume Justin’s simply got cold feet. Kayla may believe Justin’s doubts are fueling all this, but it’s more than that. Justin will maintain that Steve’s pining for Kayla and would like to get their future back on track.
Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) also know about Steve’s intense feelings, which have never gone away. After Jennifer and Jack join in the discussion, Kayla will realize Steve’s been hiding the depth of his love.
It’ll leave Kayla with a lot to think about – and she’ll be put on the spot since she’s supposed to be marrying Justin right now.
However, Justin will spill all and let Kayla know the choice is hers. If Kayla still wants to be with Steve, then she should go to him. A flustered Kayla won’t be able to get much out at first. In the end, Kayla will stare at Justin – silently confirming that she’s picking Steve. Justin will kiss Kayla goodbye and step aside so she can be with the man she adores.
Although losing Kayla will be difficult, Justin will be relieved in a way. He couldn’t lock Kayla into a marriage when her heart wasn’t in it. Justin would want Adrienne Kiriakis (Judi Evans) back if he could have her, so he won’t hold Kayla responsible for how she feels. Justin is a fantastic guy, but he just isn’t Kayla’s perfect match.
Days spoilers say Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) will console his dad, but Justin will likely suggest he’s made peace with the situation. Afterward, Justin will seek some quiet moments in the cemetery. The idea of visiting Adrienne’s grave and confiding in his dead wife will sound comforting.
While Justin’s thinking back on his DOOL romance with Adrienne and hating that it was cut tragically short, “Adrienne” will pop up – except it won’t really be Adrienne. Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) will actually be the one standing in front of Justin, but he’ll see what he wants to see. To be fair, Bonnie and Adrienne look just alike!
Next, Steve will stand his ground on leaving Salem behind. Despite John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) attempts to talk him out of heading to Europe, Steve will head for the airport. Luckily, Kayla will rush out of the Kiriakis mansion and begin her mission to track Steve down. It won’t be long until that mission takes Kayla to the airport as well.
Finally, John will get some support from Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). Days of Our Lives spoilers say John will be disappointed about Steve’s departure, but he should get some good news eventually.
Steve won’t be taking that case in Europe after all, but he will be taking a lengthy trip with Kayla soon. After Kayla and Steve’s upcoming reunion, they’ll need a break from all the Salem mayhem.
