Days of Our Lives Spoilers: Vanessa Williams (Valerie Grant) Shares Sad News With Fans - Nephew Passes Away

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers has some sad news to pass on about a popular DOOL star. Vanessa Williams, who recently returned to DOOL for a brief stint as Valerie Grant, has shared with her social media followers that her family has suffered a terrible loss. Vanessa took to Instagram to share the passing of her nephew Ivan Snipes. Ivan was 19 years old.

Vanessa posted a picture of her nephew Ivan on Instagram along with the following caption: “Rest in Paradise my beautiful nephew #IvanSnipes #gonetoosoon. May God comfort my sister Diane his loving mother, Van his father, his sisters Divonn and Venice and big brother Stealy all who loved him! Ivan lives on in all who love him!”

Vanessa has received numerous condolences and inspirational messages since she posted the sad news. One follower commented: “Sending you love light and peace during your family’s celebration of Ivan’s life.” Another person said: “Vanessa!! I’m so sorry!! My condolences to you and your family!!”

Vanessa recently made an appearance on Days of Our Lives, reprising her role as Eli Grant’s (Lamon Archey) mother for Eli’s wedding to Lani Price Grant (Sal Stowers). She was formerly involved with mayor Abe Carver (James Reynolds), but in her most recent appearance, it was revealed that she’s now in a relationship with Eli’s former mentor Billy (Billy Davis, Jr.).

Vanessa is perhaps best known for her role as Maxine Joseph-Chadway in the Showtime series “Soul Food,” in which she received an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series. Vanessa is also known for her role as Anne-Marie McCoy in the original “Candyman” movie, and as Rhonda Blair in the premiere season of “Melrose Place.”

In 2016, Vanessa joined Days of Our Lives playing Valerie, who had a relationship with Abe. However, her relationship eventually fizzled after Abe started having flittering feelings for Sheila Watkins (Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins). Eventually, Valerie took a position as Chief-of-Staff at a hospital in Washington, DC, and she and Abe couldn’t make their long-distance relationship work.

We send our deepest condolences to Vanessa and her entire family at this difficult time. Stay tuned to Days of Our Lives and don’t forget to check CDL often for the latest DOOL spoilers, news, and daily recaps.
