Andre and Teri have moved. The two of them wanted to start over at a new place. They sort of needed to after Tracy died at their last home and so they’ve moved into this beautiful new home. They also invited their family over to help them break it in. Teri and Andre thought everyone would be happy for them. They assumed the family would come together for their big move and they had a plan in case that failed. Teri and Andre told their family that they have two rules for their dinner table. There was going to be “no business talk” and there was going to be “no drama”. She just wanted a simple meal together.
Their new rules barely lasted an hour. Cookie and her sisters all had something to say about Lucious being there. He, in turn, mocked them. They all started in each other and it quickly consumed everything else. The drama started up before Teri could even serve dinner. She had accidentally knocked over as she was bringing the dinner in and so the family didn’t have anything to eat. They just had wine. Everyone started drinking and Teri excused herself to go get cleaned up. She was in the bathroom when Andre came in. Andre felt bad about knocking her over and so they had makeup sex while their family was in the house.
Not that Cookie or her sisters noticed. Cookie was a little jumpy and her sisters were concerned about her. They thought she was suffering from PTSD. They wondered if it was because of Tracy and so Cookie admitted that it was. She couldn’t tell the truth. She couldn’t tell them she was experiencing PTSD from when she killed her sister’s man. Cookie didn’t want to hurt her sister Carol and so he buried her real problems in order to pretend. She was talking to her sisters as Lucious went out to grab some dinner for them all. He was out driving when he noticed someone was following him and so he pulled his car over.
This was when Damien came out of his own car. Damien came out with a gun and he confronted Lucious. He thought Lucious had broken their deal. They weren’t supposed to involve each other’s families and yet Lucious was working with Yana. He told Damien that there were working together. He said Yana was at a studio at that very moment and that he could prove it. Lucious was helping her with a music career. There wasn’t anything else going on and so Damien put his gun away. The two men went together to the studio. Damien saw for himself that Yana was working on her music and that she was truly talented.
Damien had been proud of her. He tried to tell her as much and she pushed him away. Yana doesn’t want him in her life. She’s seen what he does to people and she didn’t want any part of it. Yana told Lucious that her father was out. She didn’t want him involved and so Lucious apologized for crossing the line by bringing him. Yana left the studio so she wanted to have to speak with her father. This ended up giving Lucious and Damien the chance to talk and Damien had asked Lucious what would happen to his daughter once Lucious was finishing with his comeback. He didn’t want his daughter to be used. He also warned Lucious that it needed to remain professional or he was going to get involved.
Damien later reached out to Giselle. Giselle was already laundering his dirty money and yet Damien still had demands. He demanded that Giselle sign on his daughter. He didn’t want Yana to be around Lucious and so he tried making decisions for her career without telling her. He demanded that Giselle sign her. Giselle tried to tell him that she couldn’t make decisions like that on her own because she has partners and Damien ignored her. He told her he wasn’t asking. He made his demands and he expected Giselle to follow through on them. Giselle later went to Becky and Cookie and she made it out that signing Yana would be a wise decision.
Cookie had left it up to them. She was focused on what she had going on in the studio and she couldn’t take the time away to care. Cookie was also being plagued by memories. She recalled what happened with Durrell. Durrell was abusive. He treated both Cookie’s sister and his own kids like crap. Cookie went over to his place to talk to him. She tried to tell him to treat his family better than that and he got in her face. Cookie then pulled out a gun to show him she was serious. She didn’t think he would try to reach for it and he did. He fought with her over the gun and she shot him. She didn’t mean to.
Cookie never went to his place to kill. She was just trying to protect her sister and Carole never learned the truth. Carole is still in mourning for Durrell. Cookie was doing everything possible to bury what happened and so she wasn’t paying attention to what was going down at Bossy. Someone they had recently signed had taken to social media to complain about them. Lala had been upset because a song she did with two other artists hadn’t worked out for her. She posted it on social media and the song blew up. It’s just that everyone was talking about the other artists and not her. Lala had gotten so upset that she put together a publicity stunt.
She did a stunt with a car. She thought it would attract more followers and instead she injured someone. She injured Julian. He got taken to the hospital and it had taken Giselle calling around to find him. She told the emergency services she was his mother. Giselle had said it so easily that Becky started second-guessing her relationship with her “brother” and so Giselle told Becky to take care of Lala. Becky tried to talk to Lala. Lala got up in her face about what she deserved and how she wasn’t getting it. Lala was creating such a fuss that Becky had had enough of her. Becky told Lala she was going to go on tour and play her one song.
Lala literally only has one song. She couldn’t play anything else and she couldn’t fight Becky’s decisions or else she was going to be sued. Lala had been taken care of. Becky had pushed her to the side where people will eventually forget her and Becky also made it to Yana’s showcase. She sat with a bunch of execs as they listened to Yana. Everyone was invited to hear her sing and even Empire was included. Lucious had invited his son Andre because he wanted Andre to hear what he’ll be missing out on. Lucious was still angry at his son. He wasn’t going to let Empire sign Yana and so the invite had been really petty of Lucious.
Andre couldn’t really pay attention to the crap his father pulled. He got a call from a very worried Quincy and it was a direct result of what Andre did. Andre made a hasty decision. He’s been doing that lot when he has his blackouts. It was the Kingsley persona. Kingsley gave Quincy drugs to give to a girl and Kingsley was the one that had sex with Teri while they had a house full of people. Andre was doing his best to clean up after Kingsley and back at the showcase – Lucious received some very bad news. He learned people wanted to sign up Yana and that they were only willing to do so if she ditches Lucious.
Lucious told Yana that it was about her not him. He said he didn’t mind if she dropped him and so he was going to convince her to take an offer that excluded him when Cookie came in. Cookie offered Yana creative control. She also told Yana that she could bring along Lucious and so Yana agreed to take her offer. She just didn’t want to be in the middle of Lucious and Cookie. The former couple promised her she wouldn’t be. Cookie and Lucious later were celebrating and he opened a bottle of champagne that frightened her. Cookie screamed. She remembered killing Durrell and so she finally told someone what she’s been going through.
Andre meanwhile confronted Kingsley.
He asked Kingsley why he was doing this to him and Kingsley said it was revenge for his dead mother Tracy.
