General Hospital Spoilers: Chloe Lanier Dishes on Nelle’s Return and Much-Needed Therapy – What The Future Holds

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) will remain off canvas for now following that literal cliffhanger, which seemingly led to a grim fate. Of course, it’s awfully hard to kill a gal like Nelle – and no corpse has turned up yet.

That presents the possibility that Nelle will resurface sooner or later and return to Port Charles, so Chloe Lanier talked about that in an interview with Michael Fairman.

Is Nelle dead or alive? If she’s still out there waiting to return, can Nelle be redeemed? Lanier had a surprising take on that, so let’s look at what she had to say. It turns out Lanier sees growth as what’s most important – and she had an intriguing idea of what Nelle should do while she’s out of the picture.

“Redemption is a weird one for me, because I don’t believe that people are inherently good or bad,” Lanier said. “We’re all human. We all have flaws, make mistakes, have regrets, experience shame. We have the ability to grow and we learn from our past.”

Nelle certainly has her fair share of flaws and has made plenty of mistakes, so it seems it’s just a matter of whether she can really learn from all that. Lanier noted that Nelle keeps doing the same thing over and over again while expecting a different outcome.

That’s undoubtedly what led to Nelle’s latest predicament, but is there hope for Nelle’s future?

“A character either has to change or they die,” Lanier admitted. “So, I’ll say this—if Nelle is alive out there somewhere, I hope she’s going to therapy.” Naturally, it’s doubtful Nelle’s in any condition to work on her mental health just yet.

If Nelle’s alive as many General Hospital fans expect, her physical recovery has to come first. That was quite a fall and it surely resulted in serious injuries.

However, Nelle does have the chance at growth down the road on GH – maybe not through therapy, but through a supportive mother like Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) suggested that Nelle’s biggest problem was that she couldn’t accept love, which Nelle might learn to accept from Nina in time.

Nelle’s never going to be a saint, but she could at least tone down her wild side and get on a better path eventually. There’s a difference in a scheming character and a full-blown nut job, so perhaps Nina can help Nelle stick to the former category. As other GH news and updates come in, we’ll fill you in.

General Hospital spoilers say Carly and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) cover-up will lead to some shockers, so don’t miss all the action. CDL’s the place to be for terrific General Hospital spoilers, updates and news, so visit frequently for all the latest info.
