General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, October 16, reveal that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) arrived at the Corinthos house and spoke with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), who were meeting in the living room.
Brando said that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) offered him a job, and Sonny said that Brando was going to take the job.
Jason and Sonny warned Brando that eventually Cyrus would test his loyalty, and that they would help him prove his loyalty. “We’ll let you prove yourself to Cyrus,” Sonny said.
Sonny also noted that Cyrus was trying to recruit Julian Jerome (William deVry), and that he was going to make sure that Julian turned Cyrus down.
Meanwhile, on the terrace, Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) recalled her kiss with Cameron Webber (William Lipton). Dev Corbin aka Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab) arrived and asked Josslyn to go out on the lake and watch the stars with him. Josslyn seemed into it.
At Charlie’s Pub, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) told Julian that she was thinking of telling Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) about the letter that Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) has and asking Nikolas to play along.
Julian wondered why Nikolas would do that, and Ava said that Nikolas might be starting to care about her, since they slept together at the cabin.
A short time later, Sonny walked in and talked to Julian alone. Sonny told Julian that he should sell Corinthos Coffee again, and he mused that Cyrus wanted to buy Charlie’s Pub. Julian said that he wasn’t going to sell the pub or sell Sonny’s coffee again.
Sonny said that Julian had done a lot of questionable things in the recent past, and that he had looked the other way for Ava’s sake, but that there would come a time when even Ava wouldn’t be able to save him.
At the hospital, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) were talking about Scott Baldwin’s (Kin Shriner) blackmail plot when Cameron walked in having cut his hand at work.
Liz called an attending, while Cameron and Franco went into an exam room. Cameron admitted to being distracted about kissing Josslyn at the homecoming dance.
Cameron and Franco talked about how Cameron has feelings for both Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla) and Josslyn, and Franco advised Cameron not to hide his feelings. Cameron then got a text from Dev saying that Dev needed to talk with him.
Back at the Corinthos house, Dev got a text back from Cameron saying he was busy. Dev showed Josslyn the text and noted that Cameron was probably with Trina. “They’d rather be alone, but they’re too nice to say anything,” Dev said. Josslyn got upset and decided to go for a jog.
In the living room, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Jason talked about Carly’s interview with the Pennsylvania detective later that night. Carly was freaked out, and she asked Jason to ask Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) to reschedule the interview for the morning.
Carly stepped out to the terrace, where she talked with Josslyn, who was back from her jog. Josslyn said that she kept thinking about the kiss with Cameron, and she worried that maybe Cameron didn’t mean for it to happen.
“What if he’s really into Trina?” Joss lamented. Carly told Josslyn to trust her friendships and her friends to tell her their true feelings.
Carly stepped back into the living room, where Jason said that he’d called Diane, but that the detective from Pennsylvania wanted to talk with her tonight. Jason urged Carly to go in tonight and talk to the detective…and to stick to the story.
In some alley, Nikolas met with Scott and paid him off with a check. After a considerable amount of bickering, Nikolas took off with the flash drive containing the photos of him kissing Elizabeth.
Back at the hospital, Franco and Elizabeth met with Scott, who was happy to give them Nikolas’ check. Elizabeth didn’t like taking Nikolas’ money. Scott then went to meet with Ava in the hospital, where he got her check. “Another check?” Scott said, then covered.
Ava said that she had sold her penthouse, and that if Scott came back for more money, she’d retaliate.
Elsewhere, Dev and Cameron met. Dev handed Cameron Josslyn’s journal with a forged entry that read: “Just got back from homecoming. Cameron kissed me. I wish he hadn’t. It was sloppy and clumsy.
Why did he think it was ok, and how do I tell him that we’re just friends?” Cameron protested that this was Josslyn’s private journal, but Dev said that Joss had thrown it away and he had found it.
Dev pointed out that if Cameron tries to kiss Josslyn again, then she could bail on him completely and he could lose her as a friend. Cameron got peeved and rushed off, while Dev flashed back to forging the entry in Josslyn’s journal.
Near the elevators, Scott met back up with Franco and Elizabeth, hanging them Ava’s check. But Franco and Elizabeth stunned Scott by ripping up both checks and tossing them onto the ground.
Scott protested, and he ran after Elizabeth and Franco. Ava walked up and saw the check pieces on the ground. Ave picked up a piece, which had Nikolas’ signature on it.
At Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) house, Alexis deleted a call from Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth), then swigged what was left out of a nearly empty vodka bottle. Alexis was pouring vodka from a new bottle when the doorbell rang. Alexis hid the vodka and answered the door to find Nikolas there wanting some advice.
Nikolas explained that his marriage to Ava was more complicated than he anticipated, and that he now doesn’t dread seeing her around the house anymore. “I don’t want to divorce Ava,” Nikolas said.
Alexis listened and said that if it made Nikolas happy, then she was all for it. “Why don’t you just ask Ava if she returns your feelings?” Alexis asked. Nikolas said that she was right and left. Alexis immediately got the vodka out again and drank.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) invited Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Briana Lane) into the house to meet with Ned. “It’s makeup time,” Monica said.
Monica sat the two down for a talk, and Ned and Brook Lynn seemed to make headway, as Brook Lynn explained exactly why she sold her ELQ shares and didn’t warn Ned about Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) likely takeover.
Ned blustered, saying that he hoped that Brook Lynn had learned her lesson to always put family first. That put off Brook Lynn and irritated Monica, and Brook Lynn ended up storming out.
Monica blasted Ned for being like his father, and she dared to mention Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), which irritated Ned.
Brook Lynn quietly walked back into the mansion to get her tote, while Ned and Monica kept talking about Ned’s relationship with Olivia. Suddenly, Ned blurted out that he cheated on Olivia with Alexis. Brook Lynn overheard the whole thing.
