General Hospital Spoilers: Friday, October 30 Recap – Sam & Spinelli’s Helena Trap – Ryan Calls Sonny – Alex Attacks Anna

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Friday, October 30, reveal that Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) visited Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) at Pentonville. Ava showed Ryan the “proof” that she got a divorce from Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma), which were really the fake papers that Nikolas had drawn up.

Ryan acted skeptical, but eventually he relented and had the guard give Ava the letter from Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) containing the dirt on Julian Jerome (William deVry).

But when Ava opened the letter, it said, “Do you think I’m stupid?” Ryan started yelling at Ava, saying that he had a cellmate who forged documents and that he could spot a fake a mile away. Ryan got enraged to the point where he had to be restrained by the guard, and he yelled that Ava lied to him and that she’d pay.

Over at Charlie’s Pub, Julian thought he recognized Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) from the pier, but Taggert insisted that he didn’t know what Julian was talking about.

Taggert ran out of the place, with Julian in hot pursuit, but he couldn’t catch Taggert. Julian picked up Trina Robinson’s (Sydney Mikayla) phone and saw the picture of Trina and Taggert on it. “What’s the connection?” Julian wondered.

Soon, Ava walked in the pub and relayed what had happened at Pentonville with Ryan. Ava threw back a double vodka and said that Ryan was making terrible threats.

Julian assumed that Ryan would tell Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) all about what he had done with respect to Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson).

At the gym, Sonny talked with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), noting that Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) appeared to be using drugs and hanging out with Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).

Sonny noted that if Cyrus is supplying Sasha, then he’s broken the truce. Soon, the lights went out due to the storm, and Jason went to check on the generator.

Someone approached Sonny in the dark, and Sonny held the person – who turned out to be Taggert – at gunpoint. The lights eventually came back on, and Taggert indicated that he had heard about Neil Byrne’s (Joe Flanigan) overdose, and he realized that Cyrus was getting a foothold in Port Charles.

Taggert said he was going to stick around to protect Trina, and Sonny said that he’d stash Taggert somewhere safe.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) told Nikolas that she and Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) were the ones who were blackmailing him and Ava.

Nikolas was stunned, and he wondered if Elizabeth had proof that Ava kissed Franco. Elizabeth balked and basically told Nikolas to drop it.

Over in Franco’s room, Terry Randolph (Cassandra James) entered to discuss the results of Franco’s CT scan. Terry told Franco that he had a malignant growth on his frontal lobe, and she asked if he had any symptoms, like vivid dreams or nightmares.

Franco recalled his vivid dream about the monkey and Ava, as well as the portrait of Ava’s that was defaced. “No, none,” Franco lied.

Franco learned that the tumor appeared to be inoperable, but that a battery of tests needed to be run. Franco insisted that Elizabeth shouldn’t be told about the diagnosis, and Terry said that Franco needed the support of his family.

Franco declined to do that, and he made Terry promise that she wouldn’t say anything to Elizabeth. After a while, Elizabeth walked in the room, and Terry didn’t say anything about the tumor, but she wasn’t happy about it.

At Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) house, Anna opened the test results and told Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) that César Faison (Anders Hove) didn’t have the marker for rheumatoid arthritis, which meant that Alex Devane Marick (Finola Hughes) was Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) mother.

Anna was upset, especially that she had put herself through hell over what she thought she did, and she threw a glass against the fireplace.

Soon, the lights went out, and Anna fumed that Alex knew this all along, and that this was going to have a terrible effect on Peter. Valentin insisted that they needed to find Alex and eliminate her.

Anna assumed that Alex was going to make contact soon because Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) was carrying her grandchild. Anna said that Peter had to know the truth so that he’d be prepared.

Valentin said that Anna had a decision to make – whether she lives or Alex lives. Anna told Valentin to go, and he insisted that he chose Anna. Later, Anna was alone at the house when Valentin called her to say that he put a tracker on Alex, with Berlin as the starting point.

Just then, the lights came on and Alex stood in the living room wearing a black witch’s outfit.

“Happy Halloween, sister,” Alex said as she walloped Anna with some object. Anna fell unconscious, and later Anna was shown unconscious somewhere on the floor as Alex took Anna’s place and handed out treats to trick-or-treaters at the front door.

At the Metro Court, Peter was stunned to hear Helena Cassadine’s (Constance Towers) voice on the phone. Peter left the table and asked Helena if this was real. Helena said that there was much left unsettled between them, and that she needed his help to stay dead until she’s ready to reveal herself.

Helena threatened to expose Peter’s role in abducting Drew Cain (Billy Miller) from Afghanistan, and she said that if she didn’t hear from Peter soon, there would be consequences.

Maxie and Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) walked up to Peter and wondered what was going on. Peter made up an excuse about an emergency at the Invader. Maxie and Peter went back to their table, and they talked about how they had a lot to look forward to next year.

Somewhere, Spinelli moved through a hallway and entered a room, where Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) sat in front of a voice machine impersonating the voice of Helena.

Spinelli and Sam talked, and as it turns out, Spinelli had developed the software program to impersonate Helena’s voice. The plan was for Sam and Spinelli to catch Peter in the act of trying to kill Helena. Just then, Peter called “Helena’s” number and said that he wanted to meet tomorrow night.

Back at Charlie’s Pub, Nikolas walked in while Ava and Julian were still talking about the Ryan situation. Julian shared with Nikolas that Ava went to see Ryan and took phony divorce papers, but that it didn’t work.

Nikolas wondered what Ryan had on Julian, but neither Julian nor Ava would answer. Nikolas took off, and Ava lamented that Ryan wanted to punish Julian.

Back at the gym, Sonny got a call and stepped away from Taggert and Jason. Jason told Taggert that he’d be put up in Kate Howard’s (Kelly Sullivan) old place next door to Sonny’s house. “A neighbor to Sonny? Ok, 2020 has been one hell of a ride!” Taggert said.

A few steps away, Sonny learned that he was getting a collect call from Pentonville…from Ryan.
