General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) are in this for the long haul. Their decision to marry wasn’t just about winning the custody case, although that was a huge part of it.
Now that Michael has sole custody of Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson), Willow and Michael are ready to give him a stable, loving home together.
Of course, this is the ideal situation for Wiley, but it’s not ideal for plenty of General Hospital viewers! What about Willow and Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) abruptly ended romance?
Many GH fans still aren’t over losing that “Chillow” sparkle. Compared to Willow and Chase’s natural vibe, “Millow” feels somewhat forced – like the show’s perhaps trying too hard to make Michael and Willow happen.
When Willow was with Chase, she felt like an actual person with thoughts and feelings of her own. Now that Willow’s with Michael, she’s borderline become a mom bot.
Willow barely talks or thinks about anything but Wiley. We get that Willow loves the kid, but it’s a shame to take her from a more balanced character to a Wiley one-note wonder.
Willow has also become this idyllic wife and mother figure in Carly Corinthos’ (Laura Wright) eyes. In fact, the whole family pretty much adores her. General Hospital is rapidly turning into “Everybody Loves Willow” – and it’s happening because Willow became the beloved Mrs. Corinthos.
Do you think GH is going a bit overboard on the Willow praise? Was Willow a better character when she was paired up with Chase? There are certainly some fans who are rooting for Willow and Michael to have a long, happy marriage.
However, we can’t help but think about how boring that would be. Even when Willow was content with Chase, there was still some spice.
Naturally, there’s time for some spice to develop between Michael and Willow as well. This marriage is just getting started, so it’s possible we’ll see some sizzle once they inevitably become a real couple.
Still, there seemed to be more chemistry between Willow and Chase – even in the early stage of their relationship like the one Michael and Willow are in now.
Regardless of where Willow’s love life leads her, GH could stand to make a few changes. It’d be nice if Willow could show some flaws and expand her interests beyond Wiley.
