General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Jackie Templeton’s (Kim Delaney) interest in Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) may run deeper than GH writers initially let on. Since Jackie is such a big deal in the world of investigative journalism, it was odd that a hotshot reporter like her would bother with the Cyrus story in the first place.
The Invader isn’t exactly some incredibly well-known name. Peter August (Wes Ramsey) has worked hard to make it a reputable news source, but Jackie could have her pick of bylines anywhere.
You could argue that Jackie wanted to see Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) or try to clear the air with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton), but she could’ve done either of those things just by visiting.
When Jackie was at Charlie’s Pub recently, she traded an almost eerie look with Cyrus. There was something unnerving about it, so this could be bigger than just chasing a story. Now that General Hospital has confirmed a couple of Gray connections for Cyrus, things might make a bit more sense.
Cyrus has been tied to a patient named Gray as well as Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight). That suggests Cyrus could be a Gray himself. That might be Cyrus’ birth name, so the patient and Martin could be family members.
If Cyrus is indeed a Gray, perhaps he’s related to David Gray from a 1981-1982 storyline. That was a man who went after Laura Spencer (Genie Francis) in a case of mistaken identity. It led to confusion as Laura was stalked, hypnotized and believed to be lost at sea for a while.
David eventually realized his mistake and went after his intended target: Laura Templeton, Jackie’s sister. This led to an adventure storyline that involved Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary), Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) along with Jackie.
Luke ultimately got his revenge on David, who fell to his death from a window in a swordfight.
Obviously, a lot of intriguing key players were part of all that. General Hospital spoilers say Jackie will be back for more Port Charles drama, so she may remain involved in the Cyrus saga.
Could this tie in with the story of David Gray? Is Cyrus related and does he want vengeance over David’s fate? Is Jackie interested in Cyrus due to this Gray angle and the old plot involving her sister?
