General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) will soon have a lot to process. GH fans know Maxie was dealing with pregnancy suspicions when we last saw her. As long as General Hospital spoilers hold firm, Maxie should get confirmation on that pregnancy at her upcoming doctor’s appointment.
After that, Maxie can break the news to Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Peter likes kids and adores Maxie, so he’ll undoubtedly be over the moon. This may cause Peter to officially pop the question and plan his wedding with Maxie. GH will surely work this happy family angle before they destroy it with Peter’s exposure.
What happens once Maxie realizes she’s been living with a monster? Peter may not be quite as terrible as some other General Hospital villains, but there’s no denying he’s a horrible guy. Peter’s capable of love, but it’s a selfish kind of love. It’s clear that Peter values his own happiness above Maxie’s.
That’s why Peter was willing to let Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) go down for his crimes. Maxie was shattered over Liesl’s apparent guilt, but all’s fair in love and war – at least in Peter’s eyes! Once Peter’s transgressions are revealed and Maxie sees the kind of man he really is, what will she do next?
It’s safe to say Maxie will dump Peter and want him locked up for as long as possible. If Peter suffers a deadly fate, that’d probably work for Maxie, too. It’s tough to imagine Maxie wanting anything to do with Peter in the aftermath of this big reveal.
If Maxie’s baby survives and the pregnancy is pretty far along by then, Maxie could have a tough decision to make. Maxie loves James West (Caleb and Kyler Ends) with all her heart and looks at him as a gift his father left behind.
James’ dad, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), was as good as gold, so there are no negative feelings when Maxie gazes at her son – other than maybe some sadness over Nathan being gone. How will Maxie feel about Peter’s spawn? Will Maxie worry that she won’t be able to love this baby the same as James?
If so, that fear that could lead Maxie to consider adoption. Maxie might think it’s best to hand this kid off to someone whose opinion won’t be tainted by what happened with Peter.
Of course, Maxie could change her mind once she holds that beautiful baby in her arms. Maxie may decide she can love this child no matter what after the birth, but she could at least mull over adoption beforehand.
