General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that it’s time to talk about Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) and her future on new GH episodes starting the week of August 3. Maxie’s been deceived by Peter August (Wes Ramsey) for quite some time, so she’s clearly being set up for major heartbreak.
Peter isn’t the man Maxie needs since he’s lied repeatedly and committed serious crimes – ones he framed James West’s (Caleb and Kyler Ends) own grandmother for!
Unfortunately, GH has now given Maxie a permanent tie to Peter through her latest pregnancy. Although Maxie hasn’t confirmed her impending bundle of joy, General Hospital spoilers insist Maxie is indeed pregnant – at least she was before the shutdown.
Although there’ll naturally be some story adjustments when General Hospital picks things back up, this pregnancy is a huge part of the plot. It’s unlikely it’ll change since GH is moving into the final chapter of this storyline, which will ultimately bring Peter’s exposure.
You can bet Maxie’s going to be devasated when the rug’s pulled out from under her? Maxie thinks Peter’s an amazing, loving man and intends to build a future with him. Once Maxie wraps her head around this pregnancy, she’ll undoubtedly decide she’s OK with it.
Maxie will believe Peter’s going to be a great dad, but she’ll be singing a different tune when she finds out all the darkness he’s been hiding. Peter’s deadly and dangerous – a killer! He’s a monster who has no business raising his own kid or anybody else’s.
General Hospital can try to sell Peter as this misunderstood tortured soul, but we’re not buying it when innocent Liesl’s stuck at The Hague and Scout Cain’s (Ella Ramacieri) father, Drew Cain (Billy Miller), is presumed dead. Peter can’t run from his mistakes and sinister history for much longer.
What happens after Maxie learns the truth? Many General Hospital fans are hoping to see Maxie get back to a stronger, more independent version of herself on new GH episodes. There’s no need for Maxie to jump right into a new relationship after all the damage Peter’s done.
Once Maxie’s free from Peter and all his manipulation, she deserves time to let her heart heal. Maxie also deserves her chance at happily ever after with a man who’s truly kind and won’t lie to her. However, that’s something we can look forward to for Maxie down the road.
After Peter’s dark side is revealed, Maxie needs to rip him to shreds and concentrate on her kids – including this one she’s about to have of Peter’s. It should bring some complex emotions for Maxie when she realizes this kid will always serve as a reminder of this relationship train wreck.
There may even be some concerns about this child’s genes, but Maxie will surely determine that she has to give all her kids love and protection. Of course, Maxie can also distract herself with her career, which is starting to take off at Deception.
Between that and all the support Maxie will receive from her loved ones, she should come out stronger after all this Peter devastation.
