General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Julian Jerome (William deVry) and Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) could be getting closer in the future. As GH viewers know, Nelle made a last-ditch effort to help win her custody case against Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) by marrying Julian. Nelle strong-armed Julian into marrying her after overhearing that he knew about the baby swap and had caused the car accident that put Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) into a coma.
Well, as is the case with Michael and Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), Nelle and Julian will likely have to stay married for quite a while. There’s the possibility that the couples could each get joint custody of Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson), which is probably the most likely outcome at this point. And if that’s the case, Nelle and Julian will need to come together and make a part-time home for Wiley.
One wonders whether Nelle and Julian will start to bond at all during their time together. Assuming they’ve got Wiley a good portion of the time, they’ll need to be civil to each other, and besides, they might find that they actually have a few key things in common.
They will, of course, both love Wiley and want what’s best for him, but there’s also something else they could bold over: their mutual dislike for Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Even though Nelle and Julian aren’t at all happy together right now, might there be a possibility that they’d come together to form a formidable team against Carly and Sonny?
Nelle might fill in Julian on all of the horrible things that Carly has done to her in the past, including locking her out on the roof of GH overnight and forging her signature on the consent forms for Wiley’s heart surgery. After a few such stories, Julian might get sympathetic toward Nelle’s plight.
Julian might also realize that in Nelle, he’s found a partner who could help him really stick it to Sonny and Carly – something Julian would probably really like to do at this point, especially after Sonny recently threatened him and told him to annul his marriage to Nelle.
Plus, Julian would probably like to forge a real relationship with Wiley, and he might come to realize that teaming with Nelle is the way to make this happen.
Might we see Nelle and Julian have some long talks and some bonding time once the show returns to production? Julian might not be thrilled with all of the choices that Nelle has made in the past, but then again, he isn’t the king of great past choices, either.
Once Julian gives it a little thought and consideration, he might realize that Nelle deserves to have a relationship with Wiley despite her past mistakes.
Who knows, Julian might end up being someone who can actually come to appreciate the good in Nelle as well as her right to have a relationship with her son. We could see Nelle and Julian develop a real respect for each other, or even fall in love as they are forced to spend time together pretending to be a real couple.
What starts out as blackmail and a ploy could end up becoming a real, close bond.
We’ll see what happens here, but we suspect that Nelle and Julian could get closer as time goes by. Do you think there’s a chance that Nelle and Julian could actually become a real couple?
