General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nelle Benson Jerome’s (Chloe Lanier) fate may remain uncertain for a while. Now that Nelle’s fallen off the cliff’s edge and into the abyss, it makes sense to keep fans guessing on whether she survived. Of course, Nelle most likely did based on how the story’s been told so far.
This is yet another setup for Nelle to make a big splash with a return, but it could take some time. Until then, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher) will keep some massive secrets together. One of them will involve the details of Carly’s involvement here.
Carly probably won’t want to reveal that she couldn’t keep her grip on Nelle’s hand, so she’s partly the reason Nelle fell. There’s another secret to consider though – and Nelle was wearing a huge hint about it.
Nelle’s half-heart pendant had previously been at the bottom of her memory box. Then, Nelle clutched the necklace for good luck at the custody hearing. However, GH writers opted to let Nelle wear that necklace for this kidnapping fiasco.
Nelle may not be found, but what about that pendant? Something tells us it’ll show up and clue Carly as well as Jax in on the bio daughter truth. Jax has obviously seen the pendant since he’s trying to help Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) figure out where the match went.
It looks like Jax may be in for a shock when the other half turns up – perhaps after falling off Nelle during her chaotic ordeal.
Carly has also seen that pendant in Nina’s office, where Nina offered an explanation. We might also see Carly think back to when she was younger and paid a visit to Frank Benson (played by James Patrick Stuart in fake flashbacks).
Young Nelle (Willa Rose) was wearing the half-heart pendant during that visit, so Carly’s memory could be jogged.
It’s easy to imagine Carly and Jax having a moment where they mull all this over in disbelief. “Do you actually think that…No, couldn’t be…What are the odds?” That’s the kind of conversation that’d probably result from the discovery of Nelle’s half-heart pendant.
Nevertheless, Jax might pocket the pendant and await updates from his jeweler. Carly might even be able to get a possession of Nelle’s – like a hairbrush – for a DNA sample. There are definitely ways of researching this and getting confirmation that Nelle is Nina’s biological daughter.
As you can imagine, Jax and Carly would want to keep all the details from Nina to avoid breaking her heart! General Hospital fans will probably see Carly and Jax freaking out soon enough, so stay tuned. As other GH news comes in, we’ll fill you in.
