General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) missed his intended target due to a terrible plan. It was a mistake to trust Julian Jerome (William deVry) to pull off that massive explosion without a hitch! Julian doesn’t have a great track record when it comes to carrying out schemes correctly.
However, it was also a bad idea to plant a bomb in a busy restaurant. Cyrus certainly made a big statement with that, but he had no way of knowing whether Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) would stay put or not. All Cyrus succeeded in doing was killing innocent people and riling Sonny up.
Now Sonny’s on high alert and ready to retaliate, so Cyrus made his battle with Sonny tougher. Jason suggested that since Cyrus failed, he’d have to pull way back. The Corinthos clan doesn’t expect another attack right now – and we don’t either since this explosion was such a huge deal.
It was great for November sweeps chaos, but now GH has to return to some of their other stories and move things along. Even so, you can bet Cyrus won’t give up. Cyrus thinks the key to taking down Sonny is eliminating Jason and clearing the path to destroying his rival.
Jason’s motorcycle crash was the first strike, and The Floating Rib blast was the second. You can bet Cyrus will wind up thinking the third time’s the charm down the road. Cyrus will inevitably plot something huge to take Jason out of the picture once and for all.
Since Cyrus needs a cooling off period to let all this die down, December may be fairly quiet on the mob front. Julian Jerome (William deVry) may pay the price for his role in the explosion, but that’s a different matter entirely.
Sonny and Jason can take care of the Julian situation, but they’ll have to keep plotting to figure out how they’ll handle Cyrus.
However, Cyrus will be scheming as well, so he could nail down the details of his next attempt to murder Jason. Will Cyrus try something just as public and deadly as the explosion? Will Cyrus’ upcoming plan be bigger and bolder than ever?
There have been some cast cuts going on at General Hospital, so there could be more casualties if GH has another disaster in mind.
New Year’s Eve seems like the ideal time for Cyrus to make his next move, so that might be when Jason lands in danger – along with anyone else in his orbit. That’d give Cyrus the quiet period he needs before striking once again.
