General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) could be in for quite a shock. GH fans know Nelle Jerome (Chloe Lanier) has been trying to line up support for this custody battle over Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson). That’s not easy considering so many people in Port Charles hate Nelle’s guts, including her new husband!
Julian Jerome (William deVry) isn’t thrilled about being forced into this marriage, but he’s willing to keep up the charade to protect his secrets. Even so, Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight would like to avoid putting Julian on the stand if possible. That means Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) could be Nelle’s lone supporter when it comes to testifying.
Of course, Nina has been on the fence about whether to back Nelle or Michael Corinthos (Chad Dull) in court. In the beginning, Nina gave Nelle a job at Crimson so she could score dirt and use it against Nelle to help Michael’s case. However, Nina eventually started to shift away from that and connected with Nelle over her desire to be a mother.
It seemed like Nina was willing to support Nelle’s custody pursuit, but this Julian marriage manipulation gave Nina pause. By the end of the conversation, Nina agreed to do this “for Wiley” and embraced Nelle while looking anxious. Nina didn’t exactly seem ready to rush to Nelle’s defense.
In fact, it almost seems like Nina plans to sink Nelle’s case for Wiley’s own good, but will she actually go though with it? That may depend on whether Nina spots that half-heart pendant necklace in court. If Nina catches Nelle holding it or sees it on Nelle’s neck, it could change Nina’s mind once again.
Nina couldn’t be sure that Nelle was her long-lost daughter based on that pendant alone, but the possibility could swing things in Nelle’s favor. Will Nina see that missing necklace half just before her decision on the stand? It’s easy to imagine Nina getting flustered right before she’s about to slam Nelle as an unfit mom.
Instead, Nina might realize Wiley could be her grandson and suddenly become far more invested in Nelle’s custody rights. The sight of that pendant could convince Nina that she has to support Nelle. Perhaps that necklace half will spark an instant connection, although one’s technically already been building at Crimson.
Even if Nina’s started her Nelle takedown at that point, she could backtrack right in the middle of it. Nina might acknowledge Nelle’s sins of the past, but she could also argue that Wiley has changed Nelle and made her want to be a better person.
A glowing recommendation from Nina could help Nelle achieve victory this custody hearing. General Hospital writers surely had a reason when they had Nelle take that pendant to court, so it seems likely Nina’s going to spot it. Will Nina shift her loyalty back to Nelle and help her daughter win this custody battle?
