General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the show will need some ways to draw fans back in when new episodes return. It’d be a good idea to get some major comebacks in the works and plan some story shockers. GH will need to pull out all the stops and deliver some hot drama!
With that in mind, let’s consider one return that would make a lot of viewers tune in again. Should GH bring back Vanessa Marcil as Brenda Barrett? Many General Hospital fans still long for Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) sizzling chemistry with Brenda.
Some fans even consider Brenda the true love of Sonny’s life, so her return to town could stir up some old feelings for both Brenda and Sonny.
Carly’s main rival lately has been Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier), but Carly’s really just butting in Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) battle. We get that Carly’s invested in how things turn out for her grandson, Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson), but maybe it’s time to shift gears here.
Perhaps Carly should start letting Michael fight his own battles and focus on some battles of her own! This would be a great opportunity to reignite Carly and Brenda’s rivalry.
Brenda might be the only woman who could serve as true competition for Sonny’s heart. Of course, Brenda also has history with Jasper “Jax” Jacks (Ingo Rademacher), so there’d be some interesting opportunities and angles.
On Twitter, there are always fans reflecting on characters they miss and wishing for big returns. Brenda was certainly popular with a great deal of viewers, so many of them speak out regularly. “@MauriceBenard and @VanessaMarcilM were so electric together,” one fan tweeted.
Another GH watcher said, “Oh how I adored Sonny and Brenda…” “Carly vs Brenda was amazing,” said one more fan. There’s definitely fan support out there for Brenda’s return, especially if it means a different feud for Carly besides her current one with Nelle!
