General Hospital Spoilers: Thursday, August 13 Recap - Sasha Does More Drugs - Nikolas & Spencer Con Ava - Sam Slams Brando

General Hospital (GH) spoilers recap for Thursday, August 13, reveal that Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) bickered at Wyndemere ahead of the portrait unveiling party.

Nikolas was decked out in a t-shirt, and Ava thought he’d be underdressed. Nikolas thought he looked just fine, and he snarked about how the evening was all about Ava’s ego.

Soon, Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan) arrived to tell Nikolas all about how Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) was courting the hospital and that GH needed Nikolas’ money. Nikolas agreed to cover whatever the hospital needed. Lulu was thrilled and rushed off.

Afterwards, Nikolas and Ava snarked at each other about their sham marriage, and Ava quipped that Nikolas could just divorce her. Nikolas said he wasn’t going to do that.

This prompted Ava to ask if Nikolas chose money over Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel). Nikolas said that Spencer couldn’t forgive him for lying, and that Spencer would remain out of his life as long as he was married to Ava.

Ava was sorry, but she refused to be the one to end the marriage and lose the Cassadine fortune.

Nikolas and Ava bickered some more, with Nikolas bringing up Ava’s horrible past with Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin). Ava stormed off in a huff. Meanwhile, over at GH, Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) entered Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) room with a gift – a motorcycle helmet.

Carly chastised Jason for scaring her and made him promise to wear the helmet from now on.

After updating Jason about the custody hearing outcome, Carly nearly let it slip about Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) and Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) pretending to cheat, but she slipped out of the room before Jason could properly question her about it.

Near the nurses’ station, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) spoke with Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), who wanted an update on Jason.

Franco thought that Elizabeth could go to Wyndemere for the portrait unveiling since Jason was better, but Elizabeth balked. “Tonight is about Ava exploiting your past,” Elizabeth said. Elizabeth and Franco went back and forth about the party, which Elizabeth called a farce.

Franco tried to claim that he needed the money and wanted to recharge his artist career to help support the family, and Elizabeth said that he shouldn’t use her or the boys to justify the portrait unveiling ceremony.

Franco said that maybe Ava just believes in him, and Elizabeth said that she was going to keep believing in the man she married, then she walked off.

Elsewhere in the hospital, Lulu tracked down Mr. Erickson from the board to tell him that Nikolas was going to step in as the hospital’s benefactor. Mr. Erickson said that he appreciated that, but that the financial problem had been solved by a single benefactor.

Lulu guessed that it was Cyrus. Mr. Erickson said that the board was very impressed with Cyrus and that they voted to accept his offer.

In another GH hallway, Sam McCall (Lindsay Hartley) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) talked at Sam’s request. Sonny shared that Mike Corbin (Max Gail) was now settled in at Turning Woods, which Sam was happy to hear.

Sam said that she wanted to talk about Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor), and that he might have sabotaged Jason’s motorcycle. Sonny said that Brando seemed very “stand up” so far, and Sam said that’s how cons work.

Just then, Lulu ran up to talk with Sonny. Lulu and Sonny stepped aside, and Lulu shared that Cyrus had bailed out the hospital and that he now had a foothold at GH. Sonny was irritated, and he wondered if the board knew that it was drug money.

Lulu said that after Jordan Ashford’s (Briana Nicole Henry) press conference, the board put that aside. Sonny asked why the Quartermaines didn’t step up, and Lulu said that they were thwarted by Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) raid on ELQ.

Later, Sam saw Brando get off the elevator and she rushed up and accused him again of trying to kill Jason. Brando denied it, and Sam pressed the issue. Eventually, Brando took off, telling Sam to give Jason his well-wishes.

Sonny went into Jason’s room and found Jason looking at his helmet. Sonny asked Jason how the crash happened, and Jason said the bike was fine, and then the steering just went out.

Sonny shared that Brando claimed that the stabilizer was installed properly. Jason suggested they check out the part, and it it’s ok, then it means that either Brando made a mistake or he’s lying.

Sonny then shared with Jason that Cyrus was a member the GH board. Jason asked why the Quartermaines didn’t bail out the hospital, and Sonny said there was a problem with ELQ and it involved Sam.

A bit later, Sam entered the room and Sonny took off, and Jason shared with Sam that Valentin was the new CEO of ELQ thanks in part to her decision to give Valentin the kids’ voting proxies. Sam looked horrified.

Elsewhere, Cyrus noticed Lulu and spoke with her. Lulu snarked that she hoped Cyrus’ tenure on the board was short, and Cyrus gleefully shared that he’s not just a member of the board – he’s the chairman. “I look forward to everything that my hospital will bring to Port Charles,” Cyrus said before ambling off.

At the Floating Rib, Sasha and Chase wondered what had happened at the custody hearing. Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Briana Lane) burst in and snarked about the “cheating cheaters,” then she noted that they all belonged together because she was a traitor to her family. Brook Lynn started drinking, and Sasha walked off.

Sasha was approached by a woman named Sienna who said that she worked for the photographer who did Sasha’s photo shoot for Deception. Sasha said that she was nervous about the shoot at first, and Sienna said that she had heard.

Sasha pulled Sienna into the bathroom and Sienna said that she heard that Sasha needed a little pick-me-up to get through the shoot, and she offered Sasha more drugs.

Later, Sasha returned to the bar to find Brook Lynn still complaining to Chase about Valentin’s ELQ takeover. Brook Lynn went on, saying that her father blamed her even though other family members sold their shares too. Sasha texted someone off to the side.

At the Quartermaine mansion, Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) argued over how Ned had thrown Brook Lynn out of the house.

Olivia thought that Ned had been too harsh, and Olivia pointed out that no matter what, Brook Lynn was still his daughter. Olivia said that Ned threw Brook Lynn out like garbage and that she’d give anything to have her son back.

Ned kept yelling and complaining, and eventually Olivia got a text from Sasha saying that Brook Lynn was at the Floating Rib.

Olivia took off, blasting Ned as she did. Meanwhile, up in Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos’ (Erik and Theo Olson) room, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen) and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) discussed how happy they were about the custody ruling, then they discussed how much they missed Sasha and Chase.

Michael and Willow decided that they’d always be honest with each other, and as they walked down the stairs into the foyer, Michael asked Willow to dinner. Willow thought that sounded great.

Ned emerged from the living room and learned about the custody ruling, then shared the bad news about Valentin being CEO of ELQ. Michael was horrified, and Ned apologized for this all happening under his watch.

Michael decided that even though Valentin’s takeover was bad news, at least they had Wiley’s custody outcome to celebrate, and Michael and Willow decided to go to dinner.

Back at the Floating Rib, Olivia arrived and shuttled Brook Lynn away from the bar and over to a booth. Chase and Sasha regrouped, and Sasha headed off to freshen up in the bathroom. Chase looked after her and said to himself that he still loved Willow.

In the bathroom, Sasha took a pouch of drugs out of her purse and gazed at it. Over at their booth, Olivia offered Brook Lynn a room at the Metro Court. Olivia said that Ned was hurting and didn’t know how to react, but that he’d come around.

Sasha returned to Chase all happy and spirited, obviously having taken the drugs, then Carly arrived and shared the good news about Wiley’s custody. Carly thanked Sasha and Chase and left.

Finally, back at Wyndemere, Franco arrived ahead of the portrait unveiling. Ava greeted him, and he shared that Elizabeth wouldn’t be there. Ava thought that was Elizabeth’s loss.

And in the living room, Nikolas talked with Spencer via phone, saying quietly that Ava had no idea they were working together, and that he was going to keep playing on Ava’s guilt until she divorces him.
