General Hospital (GH) spoilers for Tuesday, June 2, tease that the Nurses Ball theme will continue. There’s another exciting encore in store for GH viewers, so let’s look at this episode that originally aired on May 23, 2017. General Hospital spoilers say it’s packed with classic moments that many fans will want to watch again.
For starters, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) delivers Morgan Corinthos’ (Bryan Craig) journal to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Sonny’s hoping it might contain a clue about why everything went so wrong for Morgan.
Once Michael’s gone, Sonny notices an entry that points to a discrepancy in Morgan’s dosage. He gives Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery) a call for clarification.
After Andre comes over to explain in person, he assures Sonny that the problem was resolved. When Sonny wonders if the lithium dose change led to Morgan’s downward spiral, Andre contends that wouldn’t have done it. Morgan’s behavior suggested he wasn’t getting any lithium at all.
This news perplexes Sonny, who knows Morgan was taking his medication. Sonny dumps out the contends of a pill bottle and sees powder at the bottom. After a quick taste, Sonny decides that’s not lithium. Andre agrees to take the bottle for testing so they can get to the bottom of this.
Once Sonny’s alone, he looks agitated as Ava Jerome (Maura West) discusses her generous donation on the red carpet. Afterward, Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) argues that Ava’s donation is just a way to ease her Morgan guilt.
Next, Ava gets confirmation from Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) that everyone will know the donation’s being made in Morgan’s memory. Scott doesn’t think that’s a good idea, so he persuades Ava not to infuriate Sonny and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) like that.
Unfortunately, Mario Lopez doesn’t get the memo and ends up mentioning that the donation’s to honor Morgan anyway.
Meanwhile, Carly talks to Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) about walking in on Sonny and Martina Morales (Daya Vaidya). Bobbie has some harsh things to say, but Carly admits she feels a bit sorry for Sonny since he’s home reading Morgan’s journal.
After Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) joins Carly and Bobbie for a group hug, they meet up with Michael. He’s hoping to get some updates on hospitalized Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier).
Josslyn is upset about Nelle’s stay at GH, but Bobbie lets Michael and Joss know that Nelle’s doing just fine. Over with Jason Morgan (Billy Miller), he’s quiet and seems somber. Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) quizzes Jason and thinks maybe this is about the unsettling dream he had earlier.
Jason confesses that it was a quite a nightmare due to Helena Cassadine’s (Constance Towers) actions. Despite it just being a dream, Jason has an overwhelming feeling of uneasiness. He can’t shake the idea that something’s wrong.
Elsewhere, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) pushes Nina Reeves (Michelle Stafford) to give their marriage another shot. Valentin swears he won’t let Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) mess things up for them again.
Since Emma Scorpio-Drake (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) is serving as Jake Webber’s (Hudson West) magic show assistant, she wonders if Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) wants to help, too. Backstage, Jake shows off the Chimera canister. He swears Charlotte and Emma to secrecy before explaining it’s for his magic show’s big finale.
Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) also meets up with Anna, who gives him the scoop on the Chimera Project and shows him the necklace. Although Griffin thinks this is too dangerous, he can’t stop Anna from pursuing answers.
Before Anna walks away, she drops the necklace and leaves it behind. Jason’s still disturbed by his dream later, but he tries to enjoy the night. When Jason steps toward the bar to get drinks, he sees the Chimera necklace on the floor. Out on stage, Lucy kicks off the Nurses Ball and the opening act begins.
Afterward, Anna finds Valentin and urges him to put aside his justifiable anger. She wants to know who Valentin sold the Chimera project to. Back with Michael, he gets the feeling that Carly misses Sonny despite their relationship problems.
Over with Nathan West (Ryan Paevey), he swoops in to save Amy Driscoll (Rita Dorken) after she shows up without a date. Nathan helps Amy on the red carpet and expresses surprise over her not being accompanied by someone.
Amy admits it’s tough to have much of a personal life between her two jobs, which leads Nathan to question what the one besides being a nurse is.
Finally, Ava’s concerned about Mario revealing the donation was made in Morgan’s name. She frets to Scott about Sonny making the connection, but Scott downplays the possibility that Sonny will put it all together. Moments later, Sonny shows up and leaves Ava looking terrified.
