General Hospital (GH) spoilers update for Thursday, October 8, teases that Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) will surprise Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). It looks like Ava will express her condolences about Mike Corbin (Max Gail) and be on her best behavior.
Of course, there’s no need for Carly to be so shocked! Ava may have her issues with Carly, but she understands grief due her own loss of Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin).
Carly and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may have trouble accepting that Ava has a softer side, but she indeed has one and will show it on Thursday.
Mike’s funeral will begin, which means we’ll see several of his friends and family members. This service will help Sonny and the rest of the Corinthos clan bid Mike farewell, but it’ll also be a celebration of his life.
Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) will have some fond memories of Mike as a patient and will be sure to share them.
Stella Henry (Vernee Watson) was Mike’s friend to the tragic end, so she’ll make an appearance at this gathering. Candles will be lit as Mike’s loved ones recall the good times and make peace with the fact that Mike’s gone.
Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) isn’t a big talker most days, but he’ll make an exception for Mike’s sake. As Jason finds his own way to let go, he’ll make a speech about Mike’s bravery by the casket. Jason will view Mike as a man he came to greatly admire, so he’ll express how much respect he had for him.
The same goes for Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), who’ll commend Mike for the love he had for his family. Carly may also praise Mike for how he brightened their lives in the final years of his own. There probably won’t be a dry eye in sight by the end of all this!
General Hospital spoilers say Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will head to this funeral with Jason, and Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth) will attend as well. Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) and “Dev Corbin” aka Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab) will also appear as part of Mike’s goodbye show.
GH viewers know Brando once shared a story with Sonny about visiting the track with Mike when he was younger. It meant a lot to Brando, who loved hanging out with the horses. Brando lost touch with Mike as an adult, so he’ll feel blessed to have had a chance to strengthen their bond again.
Dev also got to know Mike through his visits to Turning Woods with Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy). Mike sometimes forgot the rules to checkers, but that didn’t matter much since Joss and Dev just wanted to enjoy his company. Dev will be glad he could make some memories with Mike before he passed.
Josslyn loved Mike dearly, so this should be a challenging day for her. Joss has already faced some tough losses over the last few years – like losing Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) and then losing Oscar Nero-Quartermaine (Garren Stitt). Adding Mike to the list is tough, but Joss is hanging in there.
Dev may reach out and try to lift Josslyn’s spirits a bit, but we’ll see how she responds. After all, Dev got subtly shot down when he tried to make his move and then caught Joss kissing Cameron Webber (William Lipton). That could bring some awkwardness, but Dev and Joss can at least come together to mourn Mike.
Other General Hospital spoilers say Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) will make a comeback in Port Charles. Sonny will linger by Mike’s casket after the rest of the funeral attendees exit. After Sonny expresses his love for Mike, a familiar face should be waiting when he looks up.
Sonny will have questions about Dante’s recovery and homecoming, but he’ll mostly just feel joy in this moment. We should see Sonny embrace his son soon and will likely feel like Mike sent him a little parting gift. It’ll be the ideal way to wrap up Mike’s run on General Hospital.
