Little Jake’s upset over a nightmare that involved Jake leaving and them not being a family anymore.

After Jake insists he’s sticking around, he puts Little Jake back to bed and joins Liz out front. Jake promises he won’t abandon Elizabeth and suggests she’s all he’s got. Liz admits she’s done something terrible to Sam.

Meanwhile, Dr. Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) tells Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) that they’ll have to see how much Sonny has improved in the morning. Patrick notes that Sonny needs surgery ASAP, but he also points out that Sonny may not make it.

Sam gets Dante’s gratitude for riding with Sonny in the ambulance after he got shot. Julian Jerome (William deVry) was at the pier around the time of the shooting, so Dante tells Sam that Julian’s in lockup.

After Dante leaves, Sam tells Patrick about Jake killing three men to save Sonny’s life. Sam feels confident Sonny and TJ Ashford (Tequan Richmond) would be dead if it weren’t for Jake.

In the GH waiting area, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) notices Sonny’s wedding vows have fallen out of his jacket pocket. Carly talks about the future she was supposed to have with Sonny, but Michael thinks she’ll still have it. After asks if Carly wants to read Sonny’s vows, she decides to do it alone in the chapel.

By Sonny’s bedside, Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) sits with him and insists he’s going to make Julian pay. Morgan also wants to be a better son and hopes Sonny can stick around for it.

After Dante arrives, he fills Morgan in on Julian being in jail. Although Dante intends to build a case around Julian, Morgan rants about how Julian will get off the hook and stomps off.

Then, it’s Dante’s turn to sit by Sonny. Although Dante loves Sonny and doesn’t want to lose him, he’s upset about Sonny not putting his family first. Dante thinks Sonny needs to try being a better dad and blames this incident on Sonny being unwilling to give up his line of work. Suddenly, the machines Sonny’s hooked up to start beeping like crazy.

Over with Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst), he arrives at his hotel suite and finds Nina with Franco. Nina’s got annulment papers waiting that include relinquishing control of Nina and her money. Ric’s informed that he’ll go to jail for plotting against Nina if he doesn’t sign on the dotted line, so Ric grabs a pen and does what he’s told.

Nina wonders if Ric ever really loved her, but she admits she was kidding when the question flusters him. After Nina and Franco get rid of Ric, they share a kiss alone in the suite. Back at GH, Carly sits in the chapel and weighs her options. Should she read Sonny’s vows or not? Carly ponders the question and ultimately decides she has to know what Sonny wrote.

In Sonny’s vows, he talks about how shaking Carly is like tearing a piece of his own heart out. Sonny feels Carly’s worth all the storms that come their way. He notes that if he dies tomorrow, he’ll die a happy man since he spent his last day with Carly.

After Carly’s done reading, she agrees with everything Sonny said and pushes him to stay so they can spend the rest of their lives together. Michael runs in moments later and insists Sonny needs Carly, so she prepares to head for Sonny’s room.
