General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that big changes are going down at the hospital these days. As GH viewers know, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is making sweeping changes in staffing, including the demotion of former head nurse Epiphany Johnson (Sonya Eddy) to an administrative position and bumping Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) down to the satellite crew.
In addition, Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) and Bobbie Jones (Jacklyn Zeman) were fired, and everyone was worried about who the new chief of staff would be.
Well, as it turns out, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) suddenly appeared to announce that she was the new chief of staff, and that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. Britt isn’t everyone’s favorite person at the hospital, but she’s a fan-favorite and there’s probably good reason to worry about what she’s gotten herself into working with and for Cyrus.
Britt really needs her mom Dr. Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) back in Port Charles to look out for her and offer her guidance, but unfortunately, even if Liesl were back, Britt would probably have nothing to do with her.
GH viewers will remember that Britt last saw her mom right before Liesl was about to be hauled off to The Hague for crimes that were actually committed by Peter August (Wes Ramsey).
Peter did a grade A job of framing Dr. Obrecht for his own misdeeds where Drew Cain (Billy Miller) is concerned, and right now no one except maybe Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) believes that Liesl is innocent and Peter is the guilty one.
But since Robert is off at Holly Sutton’s (Emma Samms) memorial and will soon be traveling to Monte Carlo with Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero), it doesn’t look like he’s going to be getting Liesl out of her bind anytime soon.
So, when is Dr. Obrecht going to return to Port Charles? Fans miss her, and surely Peter’s crimes will come out sometime soon, now that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is pregnant with his baby.
And beyond all that, Britt may need her mom’s conniving ways, especially when she figures out what she’s done by partnering up with Cyrus.
Something tells us that Liesl would have a LOT to say about Britt being Cyrus’ right-hand at the hospital. And we could soon see a situation in which Britt realizes she’s in way too deep with Cyrus.
You know how Cyrus is – once he gets his hooks into a person, he never really lets go. Britt could find herself in real trouble really fast, and she might need her mom’s scheming ways to deal with Cyrus.
We’ll keep our fingers crossed that Dr. Obrecht will be back in Port Charles soon, but of course that means that she needs to get out of The Hague, which necessary means that Peter’s world will need to unravel first.
