General Hospital Spoilers: Why Maxie’s Baby Is a Boy – Peter’s Cursed Faison Karma, Mini Henrik is Doomed?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) has decided to wait on finding out her baby’s gender. Maxie made that decision with Peter August and knows they’ll be happy either way, but she later admitted she was starting to waver on their choice.

It sounds like Peter and Maxie may end up finding out the baby’s gender before the birth, which could be important.

So what’s this baby going to be? A boy or a girl? That depends on which gender General Hospital writers think will work best for the story. Based on everything that’s played out so far, we’d say there are three reasons why Maxie’s baby may be a boy. Let’s run down the list while we wait on GH to confirm this one way or the other.

1) General Hospital Spoilers: Last baby born on GH was a girl

Soaps don’t always alternate between genders when babies are born, but it’s still a pretty common practice. We know General Hospital makes it awfully easy to forget Donna Corinthos (Ella and Emma Hulen) exists, but she indeed does. Since the last baby born on GH was a girl, perhaps Maxie will have a boy to switch things up.

2) General Hospital Spoilers: Peter August Needs a Mini Henrik

Another great reason for GH to give Maxie a baby boy is so Peter can have a mini Henrik. Remember when Peter first came on the scene, even before the big Henrik reveal?

There was so much emphasis on Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove) son. Seriously, it was Faison’s son this, Faison’s son that, we have to find Faison’s son… It just makes sense to give Peter a son, too.

3) General Hospital Spoilers: Doomed Maxie’s Son Karma Hits Hard

If Maxie does find out the gender early and realizes she’s having a boy, that could mean this unborn child is doomed. There may be a point to revealing this info in advance.

We can’t forget that Faison killed his own son, Nathan West (Ryan Paevey). That’s actually something Peter gloated about to Faison afterward, but what if Peter essentially kills his own son as well?

It could happen since danger’s going to be swirling around Peter soon. Whether Maxie becomes an unintended target or just faces extreme stress due to Peter’s peril, there’s a serious risk of miscarriage here. It may be soap karma for Peter to cause his own son’s death – just like Faison caused Nathan’s.
