General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) connection to Nelle Benson Jerome (Chloe Lanier) will set up plenty of drama. GH fans know Nelle is Nina’s biological daughter – and soon, Nina will know as well. Nelle has that half-heart pendant in court, so Nina might see it while she’s on the stand and opt to support Nelle instead of tanking her case.
Regardless, General Hospital spoilers say the truth about Nina and Nelle’s hidden link will be disclosed. It won’t be long until Nina has DNA proof, so both Nina and Nelle will have a lot of complicated emotions to work through.
How will they react when they realize they’re mother and daughter? That probably depends on whether Nina truly backs Nelle up in this custody battle.
As we mentioned, that necklace may be pivotal in the courtroom. General Hospital spoilers say Nina’s testimony could be the deciding factor in whether Nelle gets custody rights. If Nina helps Nelle score joint or full custody of Wiley Quartermaine-Corinthos (Erik and Theo Olson), it’ll certainly strengthen Nelle’s affection for Nina.
Nina already sees a lot of herself in Nelle and wants to help her rise above her past if possible. Once Nina knows Nelle is her bio daughter, it’ll explain so much. Nina will think it makes perfect sense why she felt compelled to help Nelle.
She’ll feel like maybe she subconsciously knew Nelle was someone she needed to protect. Nina will see that her maternal instinct was already kicking in.
Since Nina’s longed for a child for many years, she’s sure to latch onto Nelle quickly. If Nina’s the reason Nelle gets any form of Wiley custody, Nelle should also be ready to bond with Nina. It’d be in character for Nelle to take full advantage of this connection.
Nelle will likely feel a genuine bond with Nina that she’s been craving, but Nelle may not be able to avoid her usual pitfalls. Just look at what happened with Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) when Nelle first came on canvas.
Carly loved Nelle and gave her every opportunity to succeed. She was all about helping Nelle in any way she could, but Nelle remained focused on her revenge anyway.
The situation is a little different with Nina since Nelle may be grateful over the custody support, but the outcome could be similar. Nina may make every effort to help Nelle only to get betrayed in the end.
Carly feels certain that’s exactly what’s going to happen. Nelle may end up destroying the bond she’s been building and will continue to build with Nina.
